DCC Sodor

As Flying Scotsman is one of my favorite real-life steam locomotives, I am very excited to se how this model turns out, I also hope that they use Spencer's chassis, as I believe the CGI model uses Spencer's chassis with Gordon's cylinders and drive rods.  Needless to say I'm  excited for him, and for the challenge of doing my signature DCC installation in Soctsman, the lamps may prove a bit challenging but I am up for it!

Excited to see some samples of this model in the coming months!

So glad he is not super pricey he is $230 which is a lot of money but I am just glad they kept him under $250 .

However to compare
Gordon is $140
Rebecca is $220

Scottsman chasis are shred with Gordon .
A peice of rolling stock costs $25
Gordon and rolling stock is $165

Stanley is $120
Thomas is $90

Granted there a bit more to him then a tank engine however $30 difference
Add this $195

So is he that cheap .
Compared to Rebecca yes but when you think about it is he actually overpriced .

He could cost about $199.99 and they just reused Spencer's tender and only make one new tender mold to make this more fair .

Now for $30 more then this could be I'd expect flying Scotsman to be very nice .
With a proper tender coupling etched name plates etc

Okay with that said here is what I realistically expect to see from him
1 new tender mold with difference tops .
Coal tender has a couplings for tenders .
New shell .
Release date spring or summer 2027

Flying Scotsman just went up for preorder, and he's $230. So his price has finally been revealed. Better start saving up then, as he is not cheap. Nothing from Bachmann is these days. Even rolling stock is getting expensive. Costing as much as large scale models did before.
My wishlist for HO Scale: Stepney, BoCo, Fernando, Norman, Den, Dart, Porter, Samson, Timothy, Whiff, Hiro, Harvey, Splatter and Dodge.
My wishlist for N Scale: Edward, Spencer, Flying Scotsman, Duck, Oliver, Donald and Douglas, Mavis, Sidney, Mainland Diesel, 'Arry and Bert.

Scottsman is gonna be shown off any month now.

I am hoping Bachmann will fix Gordon's side rods

I'd also like to see them use Spencer's tender instead of making a new mold but I understand this not going to happen .

I also really hope they give this $230 product a cab interior
It does not have to be painted but it was a real disappointment when Rebecca lacked that .

I'd also like this to have the thinner couplings that the open coach had

The statement given tonight on stream was vague in hopes to avoid rumors, but instead has sparked a lot of speculation and worry. Really hoping for the best. Very nervous given the number of recent cancellations. I think a more clear and concise answer would've gone a long way.

Flying Scotsman can't be cancelled. I mean, they literally showed a face sample a few months ago, and is a highly-anticipated model.

They should have given the answer straight-up. Now it's sparked a lot of worry, and it caused rumors that Flying Scotsman may be cancelled. Someone at Bachmann will have to come out and say for sure. They tried to avoid rumors, only to cause them by not sharing the clear answer.

So they're just going to keep us in suspense until the next month. Now I'm starting to panic. If it's bad news, he better not be cancelled, but delayed.

I don't want to panic, but we've been conditioned lately that anything announced can be cancelled at any time. I really, REALLY hope that's not the case. If someone from Bachmann could clear the air it would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, just wait and see guys. They said they didn't want to spark any rumors. Unfortunately when your livestreaming you don't really consider if what you say will cause any impact and I genuinely think Matt and Tyler didn't mean to cause any distress.
I personally don't think it's canceled, since he's still up on trainworld and he got a face reveal. (Duncan got dropped off of trainworld before a cancelation announcement was made.)  I don't really want to speculate further to add to the gossip.
I know we overthink alot so I know it's gonna be tough to wait, but for now just be patient for an answer.
Fantasising of Bachmann Hiro, Harvey, Diesel 10, Whiff, Rocky, The Works Unit Coach, and Large Scale Edward.

What doesn't help is that they didn't even specify if the news was good or bad, but the tone and body language implied that it may not be good.

They showed a face sample a few months back, and he's still up for preorder on Trainworld, while still listed on Bachmann's webstore. Duncan was delisted from Trainworld right before his cancellation was announced.
