NEW HERE: Please help with Auto-Reversing System!

Hi,All:

I was referred here by Customer Service at Bachmann, hoping I can get some advice. I purchased 2 N-Scale auto-reversing sets, anticipating building holiday layouts for my grandkids. One set came with all the correct components. The other system arrived with everything, except both of the "A to B" track sections that go on each end have wired terminals, instead of one wired and one "plain."

Upon setting up both kits to test, the autoreverse function did not work on the one with two wired end tracks. When I tested with the correct part from the other kit, it worked perfectly. I contacted Bachmann to see if I could exchange the wired A/B track for the unwired, but they do not have the part in stock.

Is it possible to modify the wired terminal track to function correctly, or is there some other way to get it to work? Any suggestions for where to get a replacement for the errant part other than Bachmann?
