I read all the 22 messages about poor service ,I hope Bachmann read them also. You dont know how lucky you are to be in the USA as you have so many fellow enthusiests to help. each other. We here in Australia are not considered important by manufacturers ,I put an order with payment to Bachmann for parts in december 2006,Still havent got them. I have got parts from indipendant people in USA that Bachmann couldnt supply. I love my K27 and cant wait for the Mallet,  GRAHAM

THanks Mr Bach man ,Ive answered JONS message to me ,I hope Ive explained it better as I want to get the replacement right. My concern is the difference in the spacer on the crank pin which puts all the cranks out of line. regards GRAHAM.

Thanks JON, Yes I do mean the crank pin on the weights , but its not the side view Im refering to,but its the view from underneath while I had the loco upside down. The small spacer on the new weight  crank pin is nearly twice the width as on the old weight pin , which puts the short crank between #3 wheel and #4 wheel out of line,If you could check an old crank against a new one to see if my new set are faulty. I hope you can understand this, Regards GRAHAM.

Large / K27 counterweights difference
July 28, 2008, 08:05:29 PM
I received my replacement counterweights yesterday and decided to fit them this morning. I was using the 12 step instructions per this site, and fitted the first one and noticed the short side rod when fitted back on does not line up straight. I compared a new weight with an old one and found the spacing on the screw shaft to be wider on the new weight. If we were replacing all weights this would not matter, but the three driver makes the shafts out of line. Perhaps this is why other owners after having the weights changed complain of a thunking noise. Could you please advise on this .Thanks GRAHAM (Australia)

Large / Porter 0-4-0 nylon axel gear (g)

Hi From Australia. I have been trying to get a replacement drive axel assy for an early porter with the plastic side rods. Bachmann took my International money order Jan 2007 but after many emails and letters to them I have given up on them. I have tried super gluing the gear to the axel but as the gear appears to have shrunk I get a gap between two teeth where it had split. Has anyone out there got spares for this model? I am also waiting for the counterweight kit for my K27, I hope Bachmann dont take 18 months ...GRAHAM.
