HO / Flickering carriage lights
October 22, 2012, 05:10:28 AM
Hello,

That was an interesting discussion about the wheel sounds from the Acela cars... I've noticed it too, but just left it as is.

The problem I have is that the lights in one of the carriages (cars) have started to flicker very badly, while the lights in the other cars remain solidly on.
What causes this, and is it easy to fix?

Cheers from New Zealand.

HO / sound card
June 24, 2012, 11:50:43 PM
Hello,  I understand that I can fit a sound card and speaker into my Class 108 3 car DMU (Model 32-910), a British design from the Bachmann Branchline series.
Has anyone else done this?  If so, is it a nice enhancement to the model?

Does the sound card replace the DCC chip, or is it extra?

Many thanks for any comments.

Sorry... it's a Bachmann single crossover on grey track bed.

HO / Turnout stopped working
January 30, 2012, 01:43:49 AM
One of the turnouts on a signle crossover has stopped working when I use the remote switch.  It is completely dead.  All  the wiring is still in place, and the switch works fine on other turnouts.

What could have gone wrong?  Has this happened before?  Is it an easy fix?

Thanks for any help out there.

HO / Turnouts

Are there turnouts with the curves at 22" radius, please?

If so, what are the product numbers (with the grey roadbed).

Cheers,

HO / Re: Turnout motors

Both the turnouts (grey roadbed) and the DCC system are Bachmann.

Under DCC control only one point returns, and the other one - the blades drift across to middle ground, so it is useless as a facing point.  I'm too far way in New Zealand to send the crossover back to USA, and there are no service agents here, so I thought I'd fit some switch motors so I can get some remote control.

I just want to know which switch motors would be suitable.

My DCC controlled crossover points (turnouts) are faulty and will not work under DCC control, so I would like to use point motors to move the points.

Has anyone else done this, and if so, what motors are the best to use?

Cheers from New Zealand.

HO / Double cross-over
April 17, 2011, 07:20:04 AM
I am developing my layout, and need to install a double cross-over.
My track is all Bachmann with grey roadbed.
I don't think that Bachmann make a double cross-over, so I would like advice on which other brand of double crossover is the most combatible with Bachmann, please.

Many thanks.

HO / Re: DCC Cross over points
February 25, 2011, 11:02:09 PM
Thank you for your reply.  I've taken the covers off the bottom of the points, but I can't see anything different from the point that does work and the one that doesn't.

Also, the one that does work in both directions by DCC does not stay put when it is a trailing point - it drifts across.

Is there somewhere in New Zealand I can take it to be looked at?  I bought it brand new through EBay.

HO / DCC Cross over points
February 16, 2011, 11:26:43 PM
I've bought a set of DCC cross-over points, but my problem is that, while the points return to both being straight by DCC control, only one point goes to diverge, while the other one stays straight.

Is there a solution to this, please?

Many thanks, Derek, New Zealand.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

It's an EZ controller.
