Hello, I have not used my Dynamis controller for a few months, and now I find that it seems to have lost its memory of my locomotives.  It only has "locomotive 3" on the screen, and I cannot choose any other loco address.

Do I have to start again?

Many thanks for any advice.

General Discussion / Headlight for dummy F7 loco
September 08, 2016, 07:15:01 PM
Hello,  Has anyone installed a headlight into a dummy F7 loco?  I have heard about lights for carriages that work off internal batteries rather than from the track power supply, and I wonder if there is something similar for loco headlights.

Many thanks in advance,

Derek

General Discussion / Re: dcc ready turntable power

Yes my turntable has power.  The tracks off the turntable (apart from track 4) only have power when the turntable is aligned with them.

I run the turntable with the supplied switch from a DC controller, and the track is DCC, but this should not matter.

Perhaps your turntable is faulty.

Do you have your in/out track at road 4?  That is the only one that will connect to the rest of your layout.

Cheers,

General Discussion / Bachman Turntable
August 11, 2015, 09:44:17 PM
Hello,  I have also just bought and installed a Bachmann turntable, which I am really enjoying.
I have left the factory-fitted decoder in it and am using the supplied switch to move the turntable.
My layout is DCC.
However, I notice that, when the turntable is turning, and is between the in/out tracks, there is no power to the turntable track, so the lights and sound on the loco go off until it reaches the next in/out track.
Is it designed like this?
Would it be different if I put a DCC decoder into it?

Many thanks,

Derek

Hello,  I have taken the plunge into Dynamis, and I am slowing getting used to it.  I have come unstuck changing the address of one of my locos.  It was at address 7 and I tried to change it to address 8, but now I have loc 0009 on my screen while it still shows locomotive 7, and the unit does not move.

Is there anyway I can recover my position?  How do I know what address it is now?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Button 10 on the EZ-COMMAND is the same as F0.
Try programming some CVs to see if this rectifies your issues, you cannot do this with an EZ-COMMAND however,  you will need a Dynamis or other advanced system to do so.

Thank you very much, Derek

General Discussion / Sound Decoder
June 25, 2015, 04:35:39 AM
Hello,  I have installed a Model Rectifier Corporation sound decoder into my Bachmann HO GP38-2 loco.  The sound is great, but the movement is very jerky, and very draining on the throttle.

Do you have any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Also, the lights need function 0 to work, but my Bachmann controller starts at function 1.

This is my first step into sound decoders, so any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

HO / Acela lights
October 01, 2013, 08:40:46 PM
Hello, I'm finding that the headlights on the non-powered end of my Acela train are doing their own thing!  They do not change from head light to tail light anymore when I change the direction.  They change at random.  The motor end is okay.  What causes this?

Thanks,

Derek, New Zealand
