Large / For Bach-mann, glass in passenger cars
March 19, 2007, 06:37:02 AM
Does the glass in the roof windows on the big hauler passenger cars come in a clear version? I would like to have mine be transparent and not colored...

Thanks

For those who have one already......what is the driver size/diameter and the wheelbase of the drivers, axle to axle? Looks like a good candidate for a project I have in mind. At the very least if I didn't bash it I would like to have one just for the good looks!

Yes it does, thank you!

Can someone please tell me the measurements ( in inches or milimeters )  of the Big Hauler Boxcars? Width, length and height from top of roofwalk to bottom of frame on the ends. Thanks...

Vince

PS: I need the numbers for the Bachmann 93000 series type, not the smaller 95000 series. You can see the difference in the products section of this web site....

You may not think you will care too much now, but after you hear a Tsunami in your engine, you won't think that way! A word of advice from someone who had to watch his friend learn the hard way....if you do sound, go Tsunami. Otherwise, just run without sound. He spent a lot of money replacing 4 steam loco sound units after he bought a Tsunami equipped Bachmann 2-8-0, and when he sold the old ones on ebay he didn't even get half value for them. It forever will spoil you, as it has lots of others like me.

On30 / Numbers that match the SR&RL forney lettering?????
February 27, 2007, 09:39:44 PM
Dear Bachmann,

I like the lettering on my SR&RL forneys a lot, but what about numbers to match for the folks like me who didn't opt for sound? I need numbers that look like they match the color of the lettering, and preferrably not the huge size as seen on the sound ones. According to my research and photos, the lettering on the current models is about the right size. If you also go by the prototype, the forneys that are represented by your models had numbers that were approx 1/3 to 1/2 times larger than the letters on the tender. The sound equipped loco numbers look to be 3 times larger....

With respects,

Vince

There are forney pictures in the Bachmann gallery. Look for the link in the main message board under general discussions. Some folks like me have purchased undecorated models, and you get 2 different pilot trucks and 3 types of headlights. If the configuration you want isn't one of the standard options, some folks like me are also in the same boat and can swap parts.

For instance, I have a tender on mine that is undecorated, without a flare. I am offering to swap it for a SR&RL one of the same type, and I will throw in the old headlight and spoked pilot truck as a bonus.

PS: I think this is the link to the album

On30 / New On30 announcement questions
February 12, 2007, 09:34:32 PM
Dogfish Head 90 Min. IPA           Is this a typo, Mr. B?

The round roof caboose is the same or a new body style as the OR&W?

Will the Bumble Bee 2-6-0 be DCC or stay the same?

Finally, any word on the new frames for freight cars?

Vince

( I tried PM, but it didn't appear to work... )

I have a few busted ladders and details that i want to fix on some freight cars, and I also found my 2-8-0 has the uncouple lever mounts broken. What are the chances of a parts supply happening in the future, Bachmann?

I for one am anxiously awaiting the news of this, as I have yet to buy too many cars.

Thanks in advance, Mr Bach-mann
