Thanks Bach Man- much appreciated

Does your brother have other locomotives that run ok on the track.? If they run ok then that proves the problem is the Thomas locomotive, and you need to look at some of the previous advice.

Hi Roger- good call but I'm now based in Hong Kong, and my magazines couldn't come out with me. There are two model shops here, but any kind of discussion with the staff is difficult. The internet is key for me, and I only recently found this discussion forum.
I was hoping there might be a central resource with the specifications that I could just tap-into.

Hi Bach Man. Can I get the actual wheel diameters and wheel base dimensions for the eight coupled HO locos to see how suitable as a base for a On30 project. ? Tks

General Discussion / Re: porter information

Many thanks. Useful links and info. Alishan Rly of course is much more famous for its Shays most of which are still in existance, but ran Porters and Vulcan Ironworks as well.

General Discussion / porter information
June 29, 2007, 10:34:12 PM
Does anyone know where I might find information on Porter locomotives. I am interested in the 0-8-0 saddle tanks built around beginning of 1900's for Alishan Mountain Rly in Taiwan. Can't find anything on internet.

From that City State that is 'celebrating' 10 years of being Chinese, which is the home of Bachmann's parent company -Kader.

Thanks for the history lesson regarding North / South etc- good stuff.

BTW I am a Brit. Y'all know ?
