N / my first 2 tone paint job
May 16, 2007, 12:08:48 AM
This is my first 2 tone repaint. Accuflex paint with Microscale decals. Old Trix Santa Fe warbonnet. Removed molded in grab handles on front, redid 2 with wire, added 2. Not perfect, but I kinda like it. Thanks for looking. Sully

I looked at the Micro Scale website, but could not find any decals for the N&W passenger cars. Oh well. Sully

Destroyer - One thing about the new J Class, it is DCC ready, not equiped. Has a circuit board installed, but needs the chip to make it DCC compatible. Once it is set up to operate with DCC, it will not work on basic set ups. Someone correct me if I am wrong, as I am new to the game myself. Sully

Can't tell you for sure the exact differences, but go with the new one. From what I have heard it just performs better all around. Plus, it has the constant directional lighting, and is set up to take a dcc decoder if and when you decide to go that route. I just got mine, and it is sweet! Sully

Hello all. New member to the forums here, and wanted to try to add to this discussion. I also build model cars and aircraft, and have stripped quite a bit of paint. Usually use 90% alcohol, or Super Clean. Have also used Easy Off. With the latter 2, be sure to wear gloves. The Super Clean will definitely dry out your hands. The Poly S product is called Easy Lift Off. Have never used it, but agree that it is pricey. Sully. And for what it is worth, Easy Off is NOT the same as BBQ grill cleaner. Had a GP40 shell melt down in my hands before I could get it cleaned off!

Hello all from the new guy here. Just got my 611 dad ordered me for Christmas, and it is beautiful. Ran it a little on my test loop, but curves are just too small. Gonna add a loop with bigger turns to my table, maybe tomorrow. Was wondering about a source for passenger cars for this engine. Been trying to find the info, but am not doing a good job. Found this site and was hoping to get some help. Thanks in advance, and hopefully can pitch in where I can. Sully
