Thanks Rodney,  Will e-mail you this evening with my address and needs.  Sounds like my K will be coming to you for the gear change.

Thanks

WOW Barry,I wish that was in the install instructions.  I installed one the first drives you made.  Now I know why the journals seem to bottom out.  At this point, I can't find the plungers and springs.  If you have 8 extras, please let me know, Bachmann does not have these parts.  My K still has them.  By the way, what happened to your  K conversion?

I too, would love to have a "Silver Vista" along with a good sized turntable that can handle the K's

As for the Connie gear problem, get a BBT drive and forget about any problems.

Large / New track ties
December 22, 2011, 06:30:13 AM
Mr. B

Will ties, for the new brass track, be available in bulk?  I am using aluminum code 332 rail.  From what I have seen, Bachmann ties look better than the AMS ties I am currently using.

Any Info ???

Thanks
Richard

The ties look really good..Will they be available, in bulk,  for those of us who don't use brass track?  Is the base of the rail 7mm?
???

Barry,

I, myself, will be very interested in the results of your test.  Since I installed your drive, mine will rock from corner to corner.  I may have mixed the contact springs with the journal springs.  They sure looked the same.  I also have plenty of kadee springs

Just thought I would check out Lee Spring since I am looking to do the same to
my connie.  But the price of $90.90 for 15 springs is outragious to say the least.

I will be looking for another source. :( :( :(

You can locate parts by going to Product Reference on this board.  Select diagrams and go to LS 2-8-0

I believe the screw is Part #10320.  This is the screw that retains the counter weight.  The cap is the same size as the K-27 and that part number is OAR10 from the K-27 diagram.

Now is a great time to replace the drive with Barry Olsens (Barry's Big Trains) new drive for the Connie.  Very strong drive and easy to install.

Hi All,

Installed kadees.  Something has changed.  The 830 no longer just drops in the draft gear box.  I trimmed the lug and the insides of the coupler shank.  Slid right in place.  I am going to drill holes, replace the pins, so the cut levers are not loose.  Graphics are very sharp but the paint is a little glossy, a shot of dulcote will take care of that.

Later,
Rick ;)

Hey All,

My caboose arrived today.  Must be the first kid on the block.  What a beauty. ::)
Read the directions for removing the roof.  Tricky at first.  If you are using batteries remove the cushion first
then slide the cover back.  As soon a I change couplers, I am ready.
:D ;D :o ::)

Let me hear you comments when you get yours

Hey Mr. B

I will attempt to get this thread back on track

Has shipping to dealers started yet?  Customs has had long enough.
Time to start running with new caboose. ;D ;D
