October 27, 2009, 03:55:18 PM
hi all;

i recently picked up a vintage bachmann metroliner set, and i want to convert it to overhead pantograph power from catenary with dcc. Has anyone done it, and is it a tricky job to hard wire a decoder in?

HO / Bachmann E33 and decoder installation
November 02, 2008, 11:47:53 AM
Ive just got one of these sweet spectrum E33 locomotives. What I really like is the switch on the light board to change it to overhead operation.

Anyone tackle putting a decoder into one of these for cantenary operation? Is it a hard wire situation where the light board will have to come out? It runs so well id hate to mess with it like that

General Discussion / Greedy modern day railroads
March 10, 2008, 12:06:20 PM
Whilst perousing the Bachmann site, I noticed the disclaimer that Bachmann (and other model makers) are authorized to use logos of Union Pacific, CSX and their parent companies.

Thats sickening.  >:(

It isnt enough that these GREEDY corporations have been getting YEARS of free advertising and positive publicity from toy and hobby manufacturers..... oh no, thats not enough, (every 8 year old boy in the past 80 years that has had a train set knows what Union Pacific is)  lets hold them up for MORE money instead. I wonder how much a manufacturer like Bachmann had to fork over for this "extortion" which results in higher prices for the consumer as well.  :'(

Some Wall Street pinhead probably gave them (union Pac, CSX) the idea

You guys did a fantastic job with my issue, and it was solved VERY FAST!

A minimum amount of down time for my engine.

Folks, in my book, this company is top notch! ;D
