OK...what's the price and when are they expected to be delivered?

Also, it looks as though it has basically the same chassis/mechanism as the recently released Richmond Loco Works 4-4-0s in HO.

Who's making that 4-4-0?

Here's the beginning of my newest On30 layout. It'll be smaller than my last one, but it'll have much more scenery...

I run my 0-4-0 and 0-4-2 Porters w/ the Bachmann passenger cars. I think they look fine. I'll try to post a pic later.

Also, the Tanana Valley RR in Alaska used to run their loco #1, an 0-4-0 3 foot gauge Porter w/ standard sized 3 foot gauge passenger cars.

Jeff, I love what your doing with EZ-track. You could get the snow effect with a white sheet, or I use Quilt batting. If snow is an effect you would be looking for.

Thanks, I designed the layout using the RR Track design software, then purchased the track and began the set-up.

I'm actually planning on repainting the trees various greens and adding some non-evergreen trees in autumn colors. Then I'd cover the snowy rooftops, figure bases, etc, that are on the layout w/ a cover of leaves.

I'll leave the table top as-is since I sometimes like to change the whole track set-up around.

1. What is your On30 display? logging and mining operations along w/ narrow gauge shortline operations.

2 What do you have for Buildings on your layout? K-Line operating sawmill, billboard and Starlight Diner, Woodlands Scenic pre-fab station, Plasticville water tower and switch tower, two Bachmann trolley houses (from the point-to-point sets), Disney Haunted Mansion, hilltop X-mas town w/ operating fountain, lots of cheap trees, most still w/ snow on them.

3. What era does your layout represent? turn of century/ early 20th century.

4. What size and type is your layout? two 30"X 8' folding tables side by side...so 8' X 5'

I'm with you 100% on the Fort Wilderness RR locos.  And I had the same thought about Disney royalties.

Then how about a model of the Olomana, except as a 2-4-2? I'd take it as a standard black and graphite paint scheme.

I think it would be a great addition to the 0-4-0 and 0-4-2 Porters.

BTW- here's a custom 0-4-2 I finished recently...

...although I still need fo decide what's going to replace the "Tioga Lumber" on the tank sides.

I was the one who suggested the Disney Fort Wilderness RR 2-4-2T. I mean, they actually were 30" gauge locos... I would love to see something like that made, not even in the Disney paint scheme, just regular black and graphite.

It could use an existing Bachmann On30 0-4-2 Porter chassis. Backwoods Miniatures makes a replacement saddletank that is a square top model like the ones on the FWRR. If they wanted to make the FWRR coaches, they could use the closed-side On30 trolley body.

How about a 2-4-0...?

...or a 2-4-0T...?

...oh yea, I already have those... ;)

That "new" Roundhouse Trains 4-4-0 looks like it would be an ideal basis for an On30 4-4-0.  It is reviewed in this month's Model Railroad News.

I've done an On30 4-4-0 w/ one of the Roundhouse locos. It turned out OK, but I want an off-the-shelf, factory-made 4-4-0 too.

I just reserved a black and graphite version of the MMI Class 42 4-4-0 from Southwest Narrow Gauge. If Bachmann ever decides to make one I'll just buy one of theirs also and have two different 4-4-0s to run. IMO, the MMI 4-4-0 at $399 is pretty good considering the amount of detail on their models...plus I DID come to On30 from 3-rail O scale, so $399 for an accurately scaled, highly detailed 4-4-0 looks REALLY good!!! ;)

On30 / How about this in On30?

Maybe not as a Disney loco, but the same style loco...

On30 / Re: Adding decoder to existing ON30 steam engines
February 28, 2007, 01:24:59 PM
I just finished my first DCC install into my newest 2-6-0. It was very easy. I used a Train Control Systems M1 decoder and it fit easily into the smokebox beneath the stack.

My other four Moguls were done by Tony's Train Exchange and have Lenz Gold series decoders in the smokebox.

I've also done about five DCC installs into my 0-4-0 and 0-4-2 Porters using the TCS M1s. I fit them in the cab between the cab side and firebox.

Maybe the lack of a reply is the answer itself...
