Large / Indy 2-6-0 returning as 2-4-4T ?
May 10, 2010, 03:24:05 AM
Monday, May 10, 2010

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Will the Indy model return as a 2-4-4T similar to the Disneyland locomotive No 5 Ward Kimball ?

The Disneyland No 5 Ward Kimball and decoration are proprietary.

But the Baldwin 2-4-4T locomotive is not !

Can you research how this locomotive appeared when released from the Baldwin factory for shipment to Hawaii and then build a new 1:22.5 scaled Indy model without the latest electronics and wiring harness (just the engine with motor) at a price close to what the Indy was previously released at?

Thank you

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Can the diamond stack of the unlettered blue boiler 4-4-0 be switched with the Eureka & Palisade Radley Hunter stack ?
Can these stacks be switched and mounted on each alternate engine ?

Thank you

Dear Mr. Bachmann & others:

What is the best method for stripping the Spectrum 4-4-0 tender paint to bare plastic ?

What paint is the closest match to the Lake Brown of the unlettered Style #1 Spectrum 4-4-0 ?

Is there a Krylon paint colour that you can recommend?

Thank you

Large / return of the Indy ?
April 26, 2010, 09:48:37 PM
Mondday, April 26, 2010

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Can you bring back the Indy similar to the form of LKPRR Engine No. 1,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahaina,_Kaanapali_and_Pacific_Railroad

?

Note the cab flat panel roof, the brass steam cylinders, the pilot deck and the Radeley Hunter stack.

Could you eliminate the front sand dome and switch the rear sand dome with the middle steam dome ?

Could you produce this return of the Indy as a 2-4-2 with tender loco
AND as a 2-4-4 Forney loco ?

There is still a market for the 1:22.5 and 1:24 folks.

Thank you

    - same roof as the J&S cars but no sides

2) - will you be lettering these in the Disneyland roadname with a Christmas red

    - will you be lettering your Forney as "Fred Gurley" for the Disneyland RR ?

Large / North Pacific Coast RR No. 12 Sonoma 4-4-0

Oct 27, 2009

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Could you do a custom paint run of your Baldwin 8-18C 4-4-0 as the

North Pacific Coast RR No. 12 Sonoma 4-4-0 ?

The tender is wine (red) colour, not brown or green .

Photo:
http://www.csrmf.org/visitor-information/museum-favorites/locomotive-favorites/north-pacific-coast-no-12-sonoma

Could you visit the museum and personally photograph the Sonoma locomotive to ensure that the model is painted in the correct colours?

This would be a great compliment to your Eureka 4-4-0 .

You could even produce duckbill roofed passenger cars to provide a line of passenger cars different than what is offered by Accucraft.

Alternatively, could you do a limited run of  the North Pacific Coast RR No. 12 Sonoma 4-4-0 based on confirmed pre-orders through the Bachmann website if required given the present state of the economy?

Hello Mr. Bachmann:

I came across this low boilered loco very similar to the old Indy:

What is your opinion ?

Large / Indy replacement

Oct 20, 2008

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Here is another suggestion for an Indy replacement:

Vulcan No. 2 of Pacific Coast RR

very similar to the Indy but better looking with the boiler far lower and closer to the pilot deck

My other request is for a WW&F #10

video:

Could you build the WW&F # 10 in 1:20.3 scale to run on Gauge 0 track ?

Thank you

Hi Mr. Bachmann:

Yes, I am addicted to model trains of other scales as well!

I would like to purchase the "Canadian Pacific" 72' scale heavy weights.
Is it possible that Bachmann will produce these heavy weights with an interior as you do in HO scale?

The silohettes don't really appeal to me. I understand many hobbyists like the silohettes as that is the way the cars were in their younger days and this brings back happy childhood memories.

Possibly, Bachmann could sell interiors separately for those who would like to remove the silohettes?

There is another brand of expensive scale heavyweights available with interiors. However, I just don't see the money value in spending a lot for passenger cars. Locomotives ok but not passenger cars. After all it is just a plastic shell !

Can you upgrade the scale passenger cars by adding interiors?

Thank you

Large / Eureka and Palisade 4-4-0 boiler colour
June 23, 2008, 07:13:40 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Could you refer me to a metal paint brand and paint colour code number that is a match for the Eureka & Palisade boiler colour?

Do the Lake Brown 4-4-0 and the Green 4-4-0 current production locomotives have the same boiler colour as the Eureka & Palisade boiler?

Thank you

Large / Eureka & Palisades 4-4-0 colour
November 06, 2007, 08:16:53 PM
Hi Mr. Bachmann:

The Eureka & Palisade 4-4-0 base colour is Lake Brown. Someone from Bachmann had to visit the restored prototype Eureka & Palisade engine to create the artwork for the tender sides. Consequently, the Bachmann representative would have observed that the locomotive's base colour is Lake Brown.

So why is the Eureka & Palisade 4-4-0 model's base colour Black?
Was it felt at Bachmann that a Brown locomotive would not sell well ?

Your new 81391 painted unlettered Lake & Russia Iron 4-4-0 is the correct base colour for the Eureka & Palisade engine. Will the Eureka & Palisade engine be produced again at a later date in the correct Lake Brown base colour?

Will the North Pacific Coast 4-4-0 engine Sonoma be produced at a later date?

Thank you

Norman

On30 / Disneyland Forney locomotive #3
August 18, 2007, 11:52:08 PM
Hello Mr. Bachmann:

Is there any possibility of a Disneyland Fred Gurley locomotive number 3 version of the ON30 Forney?

You would just need to create the proper headlamp and cowcatcher molds.

Thank you
Norman
