General Discussion / Re: Customer Service
July 06, 2007, 06:46:24 PM
I've exsperienced that last week,  but they do have two phone numbers listed.  I got nowhere with their 800-number, so I tried the other number and asked to be switched to the service dept.  After doing that I talked to someone and resolved my problem. ;)
Try calling both numbers and see which one takes you where.
Good luck,

So the NKP went out in '64 to the N&W.  Another question would be "When was it started?"

QuoteN&W (which absorbed the NKP)
That would have been my second question.  But also what would be a good combination of different cars to use on my train?
Thank you

General Discussion / Re: The Future of model trains
July 03, 2007, 02:18:08 PM
Things will always change, but not all for the better.  Steamers are nice but so are some deisels; we just have to choose which ones we like from the past and continue to choose which is better as the future comes.
As for steam, my favorite would be N&W's 4-8-4, or at least that style.
I classify deisels into two kinds, passenger and freight.  My favorite passenger style would be the E-6 with the slant nose.  Freight deisels, my favorite would be the SD45. :D

HO / Nickel Plate Road

I'm new to railroading, therefore I only know the histories of a few railroads.  What I am asking about is "What are some of the railroads that would be in conjunction with the Nickel Plate?"  Simply speeking, on the side of my GP30 there is a N.Y.C. & ST.L, which means New York City & St. Louis.  With this in mind, the N.P.R. would be somewhat "alongside" the New York Central.  If so, what would be some others?  I've already purchased a Conrail, whether or not it fits, I'm going to put it there.
:) Suggestions would be thankful. :)

HO / Re: GP30 (Problem?)

I contacted the Bachmann service department and she told me that that's the way Bachmann makes them.  She did not say "Why?" just that they don't make it with.   At first, she tried telling me that Bachmann doesn't make the Nickel Plate Road in the GP30, but then I gave her the item number.
Thanks for all your information guys.

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out so I'll know what to do about it.

Thank you

I think it would be nice to have all the Hershey's cars sold separately.  Maybe even some additional cars.

HO / GP30 (Problem?)
June 28, 2007, 12:14:07 PM
???   I just bought a brand new Bachmann GP30 Nickel Plate Road #903.  Today when I received it via UPS, I noticed that on the right side cab there was no window.  There were windows everywhere else but the right side of the cab.    Is this a manufacturer's error or are they all made this way.
Thanks

HO / Re: E-Z Track errors
June 26, 2007, 01:40:11 PM
Yes they are Bachmann.  But as I stated at the end of the first post, it is really nothing to worry about.  I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced it.  More than likely, it is only slight changes due to temperature.

Thank you

HO / Re: E-Z Track errors

Yes they are the same radius; they are from a complete set, and mine in particular is simply a circle track.
But the amount of problem is about a millimeter difference, and that is only in the center of the curve, the ends are fine.

These two are currently the only Bachmann trains we have.  I have no additional track as of yet.
Thank you,

HO / E-Z Track errors
June 19, 2007, 06:24:15 PM
??? Is it me and my brother, or is it an actual flaw with the E-Z track. ???

For Christmas in (1996?), my brother received the Cannonball Express.  After about a few months of use, the track started to disconnect from the roadbed.  At the time, he thought it was neat ??? , so he eventually took all the track off the roadbed.
Now a couple of years ago, I received a complete tran set for Christmas.  After a few months, one of my tracks started disconnecting from the roadbed.

This incident started with the curved track (18" radius).
Currently, I am gluing the track back onto the roadbed, and I found a problem.  The smoothness of the curve does not line up with the grooves on the roadbed.  If I place the ends of the track on the ends of the roadbed, the middle of the track seems to be bowed towards the outside of the curve, causing the center of track to slip out of the groove of the roadbed.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem?  I'm just curious, even though I know its really nothing to worry about.

General Discussion / Mr. Bach Mann, "Order forms"
June 01, 2007, 01:03:18 PM
Some people are still old-fashioned.  Is there some kind of order form for us to use if we have no credit cards? ??? ??? ???
