Bachmann is a major manufacturer of model trains and must thus build for quantity sales. The locos you mention would have a very limited customer base and would be highly unlikely products from a large company like Bachmann. Specialized items are far more likely from boutique builders or brass builders. The cost for models from such sources, however, can be expected to be very high. The tooling costs for common prototypes and specialized prototypes aren't very different. What is different is that a mass produced product can amortize those costs over many, many units, keeping the price low. Specialized models must recoup tooling costs over relatively few units which must therefore be comparatively more expensive.

i know but they still should have 2 truck shays and climaxs to go with our 3 trucks

yes i know i love oddball engines and finally i got an mdc climax from eBay but i hope its in good condition i read reviews of the company and it had 20000 good reviews and 250 bad reviews... back to engines. the reason i love shays, climax's, narrow gauge ext but the reason is first hand experiences like riding the durango & silverton cumbress and toltec Cass scenic railroad and 2 first class cross country amtrack and i have been to the big railroad museums like steamtown USA in Scranton PE and the RR museum in green bay and in Duluth and greenfield village Henry ford museum and colorado railroad museum and i have my own railroad-ghost town-mining-model railroading library. and everyone in my family likes trains.

Just before the Germans invaded Poland in September, 1939.

I think he thought ma and pa were the abbreviations for Missouri and Pacific.

I agree. Athearn still produces the Roundhouse line as I think they use it as their line of pre-WWII engines and rolling stock while Athearn is more WWII and later. As far as the web site thing, They will most likely merge the two pages together under the Athearn name since what would be Roundhouse in HO Scale, for example the old-time 2-6-0's and 2-8-0's and various pieces of old-time rolling stock, are sold as Athearn products in N scale. Some of the new Athearn releases like the arched roof coaches and 24' ore cars are based off of the old MDC/Roundhouse molds of the same cars. So even if the Roundhouse name dissapears, the products will still live on under the Athearn name. Either way, both lines of engines and rolling stock are good quality, well made products.
i just viewed it and it made me sad because if they are to do that they should do it in ho and n but at least their they're still around.

the bigger tank engines would be pretty cool maybe they could start an old time line that makes mason bogies 4-4-0s early standard gauge c-16 2-8-0s and heislers + an early 2-6-0 and for cars how about some wood side ore cars andcabooses and boxcars. sorry about last post i tried quoting and it kept it in the quoting.

They are in business, but are produced under the Athearn name.  Not everything is available, only what Athearn releases.  The Athearn American Loco was an upgraded Roundhouse.

Actually Roundhouse was purchased by Horizon Hobby, and is still around as RTR cars and locos in Roundhouse boxes. The manufacturer code to search what's available and order directly from Horizon is "RND". A few Roundhouse pieces ended up in the Athearn line, and some of the "old time" Athearn cars ended up in Roundhouse boxes. But, in general, both lines are still marketed seperately by Horizon.

Which is a 'good thing', and there are some nice cars in both lines to go with our Bachmann locos.

they need to make more of the roundhouse classics like the boxcab shays and high boiler climax

a 2 truck shay would be cool, or climax... I'd like to see a good 4-6-6T or a 2-8-2T....bigger tank engines that aren't really made anymore... DCC would be excellent with them!

i already have some nice mantua trains and also i have a beautiful roundhouse drovers caboose and i will attempt to get their high boilered climax from ebay for the short line

i would like to see some older style ho engines that date from 1870 to 1920 or odd ball engines in ho scale that you would see on a short line railroad like high boiler climax and 2 truck shay's or even an ho scale 0-4-2 like the on30 one.

Alas, John Whitby Allen, who inspired me in my youth, is no longer with us and would probably not appreciate having his remains put on display in a museum.  Even more unfortunate, the Gorre and Daphetid was lost in a fire shortly after John's death.  The few pieces that survived are mostly or all in private collections and would not make much of a display in a museum.  Perhaps a model railroad museum dedicated to the memory of John Allen and his Gorre and Daphetid would be more appropriate.

Jim
i know it was lost in a tragic fire 10 days afterword but what i was trying to say is maybe a copy of one of his awinspiring layouts would be neet and i also know that the last 2 remaining runable engines are owned by Kalmbach books and are on display.
