HO / pulling cap of the brill trolley
August 02, 2012, 10:25:00 PM
i have a roundhouse climax with a stripped gear and other misc broken parts and was wondering if the bachmanns brill trolley motor and frame could be strong enough to pull at least 3 cars up an at most 3% grade. i  thought when i took the chassis off the trolley and placed it under the climax shell it looked great and hads the bonus of the working lights. just asking for peoples thoughts

General Discussion / Trainfest 2011
November 13, 2011, 11:20:42 PM
i had a great time at trainfest this sunday... all the layouts, vendors, displays, and manufactures were great. i had a couple of questions though about bachmann and there display... first off i saw something that i think i would love to have on my layout. it was a on30 2-6-0 painted with a early rio grande scheme and a green boiler. i see a rio grande engine on the bachmann list but with no picture. also i bought a NIB bachmann on30 shay that's about 5yrs old there and was wondering if these had bad problems. when this engine runs it only will be for about 2hr at max because its a Christmas layout. i just want to hear any problems that these have. thank you for your help

i know about rod stewart, walt disney, and neil young in model railroading but i just found out that eric clapton, frank sinatra, eric clapton, hermann goering of the luftwaffe, johney cash, winston churchill, some of the star trek cast, micheal jordan, 2 of the eagles, one of the who and my favorite ... elton john were all into model railroading. some of these people who are still alive should show some of there layouts or anouce that they have a passion for trains. i wonder what elton johns garden rr is like.

On30 / roadnames
October 30, 2011, 12:56:14 AM
Mr Bach-man i have a question regarding the road names such as the Colorado Mining Co.
Tioga Logging co.
Pocahontas Logging Co.
Midwest quarry & mining
greenbrier & big run logging co.

are all of these real companies and is the Tioga logging co tribute to that Tioga pass RR that appeared in model railroader a few times in the 70s and 80s
and  i also believe that the greenbreir & big run was real along with the Pocahontas logging co were in west Virginia
just curious

On30 / dunkirk steam engine
October 29, 2011, 12:33:46 AM
another geared engine that not many of us have heard about... it looks like a cross between a shay heisler and climax. the reason many of you probably haven't heard of it is because only about 50 were ever made. here is a link to what they looked like and some background info on it
http://www.gearedsteam.com/dunkirk/dunkirk.htm

this would be a great new spectrum on30 locomotive to go along with their small and odd engine collection

i would also like to see engines in ho scale to have these road names like you did with the 0-6-0 i would greatly love to see the shays climaxes and GE 45 tonner in these road names...

HO / make a 2 truck shay PLEASE
October 15, 2011, 08:57:49 PM
Rhe 2 truck shay is a great model and  the only ones on the market right now are a company with a really REALLY expensive one and the old Roundhouse ones that have horrible motors and gear problems.  Keap the 3 truck boiler and cab and give us the option of what type of  fuel bunker and also give us the option of what stacks and fuel we want. and before you all send me the link to geard steam ill send it to myself...
http://gearedsteam.blogspot.com/2010/12/converting-ho-scale-spectrum-3-truck.html

Something like that would be very cool to add to our 3 truck fleet.
