General Discussion / Re: Trees and New Catalog
March 04, 2007, 04:57:57 PM
Ever year, I request a free catalog from Aristo Craft and I've never been lucky yet.  I get free catalogs from a dealer, Aristo Craft etc.  I didn't get the Bachmann.  MTH sends out fine catalogs for the asking.  I won't buy a catalog, if a company wants me to spend my money on their products, then they can send me a catalog.  They expect you to buy the Thousand dollar engines.  I received a USA Catalog a couple weeks ago and first thing I did was order a pair of SD-70's.
Another biggie, is Bachmann can sell cars for $39.99 with metal wheels but other companies ask 60 to 80 dollars for cars with plastic wheels.

I was looking at the stack on my Meadow River.  It was knock loose and doesn't seem to fit very well.  I don't know if a piece is missing or not.  I would have rather had the straight stack.
Cass Scenic RR is on the otherside of my state from me, but we try and go up every year. When you see a real Shay under way you'll never forget it.

I really like the way the engine turned out, what paint did you use.  I have 4 Christmas Annie's that could use paint.  Spray can or do I need to get a compressor and air brush.

I didn't look over the Shay when I unpacked it, I was busy, my furnace had shut down.  I finally found a DVD in the end of the box.

My three truck Shay didn't have a VCR tape or lube instructions like the other Shay's.  Did I get shorted.
I was interested it the straight Stack
I'm just now getting back into G Scale and I picked up a nib 36 ton and the new three truck.  The 36 ton had to go for repair, back truck gear.

I purchased a three truck Meadow River Shay yesterday and it had one smoke stack, which was knocked off.  A friend purchased an undec Shay and he had 4 smoke Stacks with his. Why didn't I get 4.

I sent a new 36 ton Shay back last week and I hven't heard from Bachmann.  I called yesterday and tried several phone extentions and never talk to anyone.  It's 10 degrees out this morning, so there isn't much hurry.

I just picked up a new 36 ton Shay NIB and I hate to think I'll have to buy new trucks to make it right. Bachmann service has it now fixing a rear truck. Bachmann had a flaw that wasn't fixed.  I love my Bachmann trains and have many.  I have a source for couple new 36 ton Shays and I will be buying them.

I would think, that Bachmann would do away with the older sets and use the Annie in all sets.
I wouldn't consider buying the sets with the old style locos.
I was looking at sets a couple days ago.

I thought the mudhen was coming out last year and was surprised when the 3 truck Shay came out.  The new Shay is what got me back into G Scale.

Steve, I have a friend that has several Shays still new.  He has so many trains, he doesn't have time to run them all.  He's been retired a couple years and he's trying.

I've been worried all week wondering if my Shay made it back to Bachmann safe.  I didn't have the big heavy box for it.

Steve, where did you find that thumb nail picture, I'd like to have it for wall paper.  I'd love Bachmann to make them, I can't afford the Accucraft.
It's 9 degrees here, bad time to return to the hobby.
I pickup the Shay last month and I figure he has a few more to sell nib, I'll have all I can get.  I've never seen the 38 ton Shay.  I will have a 3 truck soon as I can.
