Love that FDS one, I could go for that one. The Uintah and Sumpter Valley ones will be made by MMI in the near future.

Here are some links to good examples of 2-6-6-2Ts, including one with a tender:

Classic lines of a heisler, this is what I'd like to see
#18
I think that was my point Hamish, one of the 4-4-0s should have been a heisler.

I'm still scratching my head as to why we got two 4-4-0's back to back. There were calls for a standard 4-4-0 like the Eureka or like the Disney engine, but as far as I know, nobody was begging for a Mt. Gretna engine, or a South American export engine. I think Bachmann would have been far further ahead to have made a heisler and a 2-6-2 tank engine instead.

On30 / Re: On30 couplers

I seem to remember dropping O scale kadee 803 couplers into the top slot of the two bay hopper without major hassles. I think the other cars I just cut off the styrene mounting tabs and mounted the 803 couplers in their boxes at the On3 height. To me having O scale cars with couplers at HO height doesn't look right.

I know Sunset made this engine in brass On3 and it is rare to find one for sale.  ???

about as hard as trying to find HO Colorado Midland brass engines. ??? ::)

Back to the beating the dead horse please...
Gimme a heisler, 28-35 ton two truck, and make it easily regaugeable to On3!

Yes, a D&RGW rotary would be really nice, especially when the available options for rotaries are either really expensive brass, or really hard to build craftsman kits (also expensive).

It shouldn't be tripping the decoder, I have one in my On30 climax and it doesn't do this. The 750 decoder (micro-tsunami) is rated for a stall current of .75 amp. I can't see a can motor pulling more that half of that under normal operating conditions, so unless your friend has wired multiple high draw lights and a smoke generator to his engine I can't see why his would be tripping.

On30 / Re: Reasons for Bachmann to make a K-27
September 04, 2008, 08:29:07 AM
I say forget it, MMI has already done at least 3 runs of K-27 engines both inboard and outboard piston types. For those of you pining for a small 2-8-0, BLI already did a 2-8-0, and MMI has done a C-19 2-8-0 and has promised further runs of c-18 and c-17 engines, so Bachmann is not likely going do re-invent the wheel. This is not HO where multiple manufacturers make F-7 and F-9 engines. Bachmann would be far better off to make a heisler, the 2-6-6-2 articulated that it announced in 1:20.3 in On30, and different versions of its ten-wheelers.  Sorry to be a killjoy, but K-27s, and 2-8-0's  already exist.

Sure does look a lot like the ex Alaska engine at the Huckleberry railroad in Flint Michigan though, like the green jacket too

The 2-6-6-2 tank engine recently announced for 1:20.3 is a beauty, no complaints from me if you decide to offer it in On30. And while you are at it, how about a heisler and the gramps tank cars too?
