Williams by Bachmann / OGR Run 232 WBB Article
November 16, 2008, 08:42:07 PM
I think OGR did a fantastic job of interviewing and presenting the WBB marketing strategy. Obviously, it would have been nice to see a review of the Heritage series engines or the sharks in the new demo colors. Oh well, hopefully we'll see some new pictures in the photo gallery one of these days :'(

You were correct! And in the correct colors, too.

Actually I thought the MTH F45 was the Premier line, not the RailKing.

I think it's the December issue. They've got some great new subscriber-only content on their website, too.

Williams by Bachmann / Latest CTT magazine
October 24, 2008, 09:44:31 AM
I just got my latest CTT magazine and I was pleasantly surprised at the WBB stuff.

The WBB BL-2 engine was reviewed and boasted a real spiffy EMD demonstrator paint job. CTT liked that engine!

I also liked the ad on the back cover showing the new Baldwin Sharks in demo colors. I think those are going to be on my Christmas list! Who knows, maybe the Milwaukee Road will buy a set or just lease them.

That my friends is the magic of toy trains!

Too bad you won't be offering either a dome car or Skytop obs car, because nothing says "Milwaukee Road passenger trains" more than those two cars.

The Milwaukee FP45's were painted in UP colors originally for the join UP-Milw "City of ... Trains". FP45's (in Orange & Black Milw freight colors) used to appear at the Savanna Illinois roundhouse occasionally in the 1970's.

Speaking of Savanna, Illinois:

The Burlingon Northern (which also ran through Savanna and continues as BNSF) used to occasionally have F45 engines in BN colors and Big Sky Blue Great Northern. BTW, I model Milwaukee Road but the BN merger color combinations were something to see!

Wow! Those are really nice. Thanks, 3Rail!

So, will those cars and E-7's be available at JusTrains for Christmas?

Also, will you on release a dome car or skytop lounge car at some point?

BTW, my hope is that someday you guys will offer either the F-3 or F-7 in Milwaukee Road freight colors.

Anyway, you made my Sunday! Thanks again.

I would love to have an FP45 in Milwaukee Road freight colors (orange & black). Come to think of it, F7's in those colors would rock too!

I agree and can't wait to see the matching passenger cars! However, I may also have to acquire a set of Sharks in the demo colors. Wouldn't they look awesome in orange and black? I know the Milwaukee never had Baldwin Sharks - but it's my railroad! ;D

I am impressed! I just got my email newsletter and it was outstanding. The pictures were fantastic. Thank you for including the Milwaukee Road E-7 artwork! Now I really want to see the pictures. I also liked the UP heritage engines and Baldwin Sharks in demonstrator colors.

I know what to ask Mrs. Santa for this year ;D

Hi 3rail,

Thanks for the quick response! I also wouldn't mind seeing pictures of the new F3 and GP-38 engines. I've looked at the ads in OGR and CTT and drooled!  ;D

Are these pictures going to be posted before the next OGR issue, or are you folks waiting until they publish the Williams By Bachmann article?
