I thought there was only one way to install the tender-locomotive connectors but my 4-8-2 heavy mountain runs backwards. which connectors did I misconnect with my fat fingers ?

I have the MRC Prodigy Advance 2 system

I used a DREMEL saw to cut the track and filled the void with melted plastic molded to the track profile. And drilled holes in the track to solder the required wires.

I have seen those on the MARKLIN side custom made by the hobbyist .Yes, very handy and you can probably make those from pennies .....got me thinking............or thick washers........ball bearings..........aluminum extrusions.....miniature brass screws in the back of the tender for electrical pickyp...........ok, I am done designing this thing, time to build.  ;D

there is nothing long haul in my layout. I fall under the category of " playing with trains ' as opposed to my friends at the club, who fall under the category " serious railroaders with timetables ". I have to have a rear light so I am going to need small tubing, lamp, resistor, black paint and build one.
sounds like a fun project.

I am thinking more of protecting the connector  and wiring between tenders and locomotives. there should be a more permanent connection to prevent these miniature wires to be pulled apart, since these wires are not color coded. There is nothing preventing the drawbar from diconnecting while running the train, surely resulting in the wires being pulled from the connectors.

Perhaps the pin used on tenders for the drawbar should be made of metal ? I have had two break already ( 4-8-2, 2-10-0 russian Decapod) from handling.

After some thinking, I am guessing you can take a DREMEL and gring off the flanges on the inside drivers :D
