Now hold on. The Anniversary (Annie) version was introduced in late 2000 to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Big Hauler line. Let me see....2000-10=1990. Not 1988. What gives?

I think you may have jumped the gun on the silver anniversary of the Big Haulers.

Here is a quote from Wikipedia.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachmann_Industries

"Big Haulers

In 1990 Bachmann started to produce large scale train sets called the Big Haulers. These G scale models include trains, shays, and also streetcars. Their most famous line is the Emmett Kelly Jr. circus trains, introduced in 1993."

That would make 2015 the Big Hauler silver anniversary.

Loco Bill,

You do realize that jimdavis88 wrote: I plan two 4'R corners  on the one end, and the other end will be a 6'R ½ circle.

Now he may have written it incorrectly, but a 4 foot radius is an 8 foot diameter circle and a 6 foot radius is a 12 foot diameter circle. Surely that is an easy enough curve for almost anything!

@ Gion: Ich habe Dir eine email mit Bild geschickt. Wäre toll. wenn das klappt. Es ist genau die Seitenwange des Jackson Sharp Truck.

Cheers

Jan

Translatiion:

I have sent an email with a picture. Would be great, if that works. It is exactly the side panel of the Jackson Sharp truck.

Henninck

sende eine Foto des defekten Teils an caprez.brechbuehl@sunrise.ch Wenn es nur ein Seitenteil ist, passt es in einen Briefumschlag und ich kann es ohne Probleme von der Schweiz nach Deutschland senden.

Herzlicher Gruss, Gion

Send a photo of the defective part to caprez.brechbuehl@sunrise.ch. If there is only one side panel,  it can fit into an envelope and I can mail it without any problems from Switzerland to Germany.

Cordial greetings, Gion

I found it, however there is no top switch??  What does that mean.  There is only the on/off smoke switch.

I have a 4-6-0 without the top switch too. The slot was put there for a direction switch.  All it means is that it our locos were manufactured before Bachmann started to install the direction switch but after the mold for the smokebox front was modified. I installed an on/off switch in that slot.

Your drive gear has broken. You need to replace the gear.

The Big Hauler trains are 1:22.5 scale which represents narrow gauge in G gauge. Notice I said G gauge and not scale? That's because there are several scales that run on the same track (45mm).

You already have tested your smoke unit. Oil in, run engine. No smoke=bad smoke unit. Pretty simple,eh? On a serious note;make sure the smoke switch behind the smoke box door is in the ON position.

You will need 12 # 94501 curved tracks and 4 #94511 straight tracks.

New Bachmann is pricey. Try E-bay for a better deal.  ;)

You have these drawings right here in this site: http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/dwg/dwgs/G825X.pdf

Joe,

I should have stated that my Porter is the 1:22.5 Big Hauler version. It's a little different. What I really needed to know was how the rear drivers are attached. Judging by this drawing, they appear to be pressed onto the axle.

Thanks for the link, I think it will be helpful.

Large / Re: volume on 4-6-0 Mogul
December 10, 2012, 09:23:25 PM
First off, the 4-6-0 is a ten wheeler. A mogul is a 2-6-0.

Some tenders have a volume control on the bottom of the tender. If yours does, rotate it clockwise for maximum sound.

Re: "Under the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives, 2-6-0 represents the wheel arrangement of two leading wheels on one axle, usually in a leading truck, six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and no trailing wheels. This arrangement is commonly called a Mogul"
