you mean Seuthe smoke generators.
And yes they get quite hot.
The first thing i do when i get a H0 to 0n30 conversion candidate is to remove the smoke generator and chuck it in file 13.

This is a first generation set made specific for xmas layouts.
It was a nice locomotive to convert to a real model by the already exciting 0n30 community.
Bachmann saw that there was a market for 0n30 and build upon the success of these first sets.
The later models they produced were much better in detail, thus the Spectrum brand.

A passenger train usually does not have a caboose.
Freight trains do.

The set you have has light bulps, no LED's.

No, the inside holes of the bearings are a bit bigger than the axel .
When they are dry the axel will start rolling in the opposite direction of the axel's rotation inside the holes, that is what you are hearing.
It is a resonance.
Running it to long to dry will ruin the bearing.
Oil is the solution or in case of a old motor , a new on.

you are forgiven..... ;D
Anyway the gauge is also wrong so.....
Love the trains , hate the track.
I use PECO 0n16.5 flex and switches.

And I am from Holland.
We also use 240V AC.
The writer of this topic says 240V 1,5A and not what his secondary voltage is.
And the Bachman says OK to this question, oops.
From experience I can tell you that a led on 240V is spectacular , it explodes and only leaving two smoking connection wires.

240 Volts?

Most people don't know the difference between voltage and current.
For example 10000 V 0,0001A won't kill you, that's static electricity.
10000V 1A will.

That's a BLI model!
Look at the box it says Broadway limited on the logo.
To expensive!
The sound system is, to say it mildly, disappointing.
I put a Tsu1000 into mine.

BLI for the aficionado's, Broadway Limited Imports for others. ;D
They used to make one model in 0n30,  you guessed it , Yes the C16.
Used to make, sound familiar?
Most examples can nowadays be found on Ebay for inflated prices.
I bought mine being patient and jumping on them in time when possible for reasonable prices.

For decals have a look at San Juan Decals.

Be aware that the yellow pigment is very transparent in comparison with other colours.
Maybe you could paint the inside of the car with a  more opaque colour.
When i run the yellow cars in front of my window the sun shines right through.
The same goes for the Bachmann D&RGW yellow reefers.

I have four BLI C16's.
The RGS #40
The D&RGW #271, 278 and the 268 in bumble bee colours.
All of them were converted to how they looked like from pictures in the book; The Narrow Gauge Pictorial, Rio Grand Southern and D&RGW Motive power Vol.1, by Robert L Grandt.
As a footnote, the book is numbered #68 and is signed by the Editor/Author.

I bought this set in I believe 2008 on Ebay from The Favorite Spot.
It is DC.
The track i gave away and the locomotive has been recycled.
The real Bumble Bee is a C16 2-8-0 Consolidation.
I have one from BLI.

If these products were made in only your country  you could compare them.
But there are differences between consumer laws in your country and mine.
And most of the consumer laws in my country have been tainted by European Union laws as well.
