I don't see it in the current listing. Bachmann does not make every model every year. They build them in batches. If it is not listed it only means it is not currently being made and they still may add it back into production later on. Many models come and go.

Make sure the wires are not getting hung up. Look for plastic flashing where it slides. Give it some lube.  Add weight to front of tender.

I have purchased over 200 items from the UK and have had no problems receiving in the US.
Ehattons is a good dealer and yes you should get a discount for the VAT. Vat will come off at checkout.
Personely i like the Hornby items over Bachmann in OO gauge. I have also purchased many Liliput, Roco, and Fleischmann items. Liliput is owned by Bachmann and the German HO engines are on par with the US Spectrum line.
There is always Ebay UK that works just like Ebay US. If you have a US account you can use it and Paypal just like in the US. Just sign in using your US ID. If you put something in your watch list it will automatically convert to US dollars. The Advantage you still have Ebay and Paypal protection for a bad transaction. Never had to use it.
I Never had a problem and most items are shipped using Royal Mail signed for. Much cheaper than DHL or UPS. They are still insured.
Check out   New Railway Modellers Forum  on specific models..

I love steam. Anything that runs well. I have at least 1 (sometimes 2 ) of every Spectrum steamer Bachmann has ever made. Even have a few On30 Bachmann. I have been waiting for almost  a year for some new STEAM. This includes both HO and N scale. The economy might be down for some, but not here.
I retired and have more time for fun and time to devote to the hobby.
While i have been waiting I have purchased a new Mustang and started flying remote helicopters.
I think this part of the market is waiting.
Broadway Limited is a new player in steam and i see they have no problem selling out the steam releases.

Don't think they have made them for a number of years in ""C"" model. They have made the "CW"" wide cab. The CW wide cab was updated to DCC/ or Dcc ready but i don't think the C model ever was.
Atlas makes both the C and CW.
You can still find the older models sometimes on Ebay.

The engine should have rubber traction tires on the 2 drive wheels. These may be missing or dried out. Are they tight on the wheels. Are they soft enough to provide traction??
Check all the other non-power wheels to be sure they roll free with little resistance.
Adding weight to the engine might work but might also put more wear on the motor. Oil the wheels with a very small drop of oil on the axels.
New traction tires can be had look at Ebay UK.

They will run on the same track and power supply as HO.
What type engine do you have?? Steam or Diesel ??
Sounds like the problem is in the engine picking up current.
If it is steam make sure all contacts are clean and good connection between engine and tender. The Hornby steam engines with tender drive need a good connection between engine and tender.

HO / Re: Wheels for OO gauge

You can go to Ebay UK and do a search for oo wheels. Bachmann and Hornby both use them. Both use HO track. I have purchased plenty of items from the UK.
If you have a user name and password for Ebay US it will work for the UK also no need to register over there.

Not sure on the 4 6 0 but on the 2 6 0 you have to slide the boiler forward while lifting up.

Look at the diagram for the trucks. The bottom cover clips off so you can get to the wipers and wheels.
Or you can use 2 toothpicks. Use one to hold the wiper close to the inside frame and use the other to bend the end out to the wheel.
Should save you from sending to Bachmann.

Looks like you have to remove both the cab and boiler to expose the motor. Just one drop of oil on the front and rear shaft to the motor works wonders. While apart you might as well add some grease to the worm gear. Spin it a few times and it will transfer to the other gears.

12v or 16v. 16v will not be as bright but will last longer.

Look at the back of each wheel for the little electrical wipers  that hits each wheel back for current. If you slide the wheel side to side the contact should still hit the wheel all the time. If they don't you will have to bend them so they always touch the wheels.

I found alot of the noise in Bachmann diesels is from the drive shaft they use. Some are bent and  not straight. Watch them turn and see if they wobble. Also i have eliminated some noise by removing some of the slop movement front and back. Slide the coupling on the worm shaft closer to the motor.

HO / Re: Where to get parts for old 484 80's engine
January 22, 2013, 09:22:11 AM
The older engines have a problem with the wheels coming loose on the Axel shaft or the shaft braking along with stripped gears. Check to find the loose wheel. Thur trial and error some times you can adjust that wheel and align the rods back up. Then add a drop of glue to hold it back in place.
New parts are hard to find.
