If this is a new locomoyive and you got it from a Bachmann dealer. I would take it back.

trainman I did not say, or even think that you ran trains without cabooses?  I was just adding that a train is not a train with out a caboose.

I don't know much about DCC, but I remember reading reset the decoder.  I wonder if that might work.

1316 was the locomotive that went to the Texas State rr, was built in 1911.  1344 was built in 1912 and lasted until 9-6-1950. I got to see one or two of them in service.

An old way of making shake shingles was to cut strips from a brown paper bag. I don't know the size of shakes, but let say 2 feet long and eight inches wide, so you would cut strips 2 scale feet and then cut slits half way up about ever 8 scale inches.  then glue one strip down and move up and glue another strip, and keep doing this until the roof is covered.
