You can probably fit a digitrax N scale decoder. You'll just have to find one that fits best, I don't have a 2-6-0 but what is there for space in the tender?

Woodland scenics sell poly fiber pre dyed green and some what compressed. It's cheap and it can be streached out a fair ways so it goes far. It can then be sprayed with diluted white glue and sprinkle on assorted colors of ground foam. This stuff is great for large bushes all the way to tree foliage. I'd say it's much better than going through the hassel of using dyes and pillows.

Aww.... Makes me regret spending months detailing and re-wiring to the old undecorated version when they go and do that to the model! Very nice loco, very nice layout as well. Thanks for sharing.

Oh whoops I was thinking of the wrong locomotive. Still, should handle 18-19 degrees ok, as I've seen it done many times with that loco.

Should be 18 degrees as it's a four axel locomotive so 18 should be easy.

Modelrailroader has done a few articles on water effects and they say to I believe dry brush white onto the dried ripples. In my expirience with the stuff, I like it a lot. It goes a long way with one bottle, mines not even done yet and I've done a ton of work with it.

I'm desprite for somebody to produce an affordable ES44ac. Sofar T55 was the only producer of them but with them gone the GEVOs aren't being produced anymore.
Athearn got the Tower 55 tooling, they're upgrading all their locomotives, and they should be re introduced by 2010.
I sure hope so, it would be worth the wait.

Is this a just steam wish list or are my diesel wishes aloud too. If so I'm desprite for somebody to produce an affordable ES44ac. Sofar T55 was the only producer of them but with them gone the GEVOs aren't being produced anymore.

HO / Re: Can different trains be ran on one track

What do you mean by flex track? I've never seen a train set with flex track as it requires securing the track permenantly and rail cutting. Do you mean sectional track?

HO / Re: E-Z Mate Couplers - Need Help
July 04, 2009, 02:28:28 AM
When I converted my Thomas set to knuckle couplers I used kadee #5 couplers with their suppied box. I took off the origional hook and loop coupler, filed the part of the car that hangs down for the coupler just enough to bring the knuckle coupler to standard height, then used the origional screw to screw on the knuckle coupler and box to the stubs on the car. So if that made any sence than good but basically I'm saying go with the kadee conversion packs as they are made for this more than ez-mates.

Well I don't know of all the reasons but on the real railroads the higher the pound(or code) of rail the more it can handle. So main lines always have the highest code of rail then sidings can either e the same or slightly smaller then branch lines and spurs are the smallest. Along with rail size, tie spacing usually changes(ie, heavier rail gets closer spaced ties, than lighter rail which is more spread out) for the most part it's all about use and how much use a section of track will have to handle. Now I don't know what railroads use what kinds of codes or weight of rail but that's a small bit of research that can be done on the Internet along with finding out what weight of real rail is equivlent to which code of track which I'm also not sure of. Anyways, to make your layout look as real as Possible( at least when it comes to track) just use code 100 for main line and major sidings and code 83 for lesser sidings and spurs. Also it looks even better when the main line is elevated higher than the rest of the track work and have spurs at almost ground level with sidings in between.

It's a magazine, that also has a very good website with tons of articles and resources, including articles on white LEDs and different lighting wiring.

HO / Re: Poll Results
June 29, 2009, 12:43:52 AM
I agree, it was nice idea to do a poll on peoples layouts. It is totally the worlds greatest hobby and I'm proud to be part of it. Plus I must also add that interaction with other modelers is like the icing on the cake, especially at a local club which is full of many fun loving guys and gals that make it awsome in every way. A local club is a nice thing to have, and a nice discussion group helps tide me down till the next meeting or show.

HO / Re: ongoing and future projects.

Ahh as many wise model railroaders have said "a layout is never complete!" and I live by this rule as it is true, I most enjoy the sudden inspiration for a project and go ahead and do it. And once everything is done, you tear up a slightly less satisfying section and get more inspiration. That's how I work anyways. There's two projects on my mind right now though
1. Tiny wireless camera installed into a locomotive with the tv beside the controls so I can literally drive from inside the train.
2. Full switch and signal control linked to my computer to automate and digitalize ctc controls.
Sadly both are quite expensive so they won't come to soon but I am fulfilled with all my scenery projects for now.
