no.  1008 is just a steam locomotive under wire.  In 1007, it looks like 4 people working and 20 people watching.

Well before zip code you wondered how your letter got lost.  Now with zip code you wonder how they get lost so fast.

Just wondering why IRM 2-10-0 would be pulling a 135 car coal train.  Was it just to see if they could do it?

Some of them had manual gates.  C&NW still had some in 1952

Since we are telling how DCC works, let me ask a question.  I know you can run a dc locomotive on a dcc system.  But how does it control the locomotive.  I would think that when you put it on the track it would just take and run full speed.

In his first post he wrote "I ordered a replacement cowcatcher from the Bachmann parts store (model H11408-Cowcatcher-B). But now how do I remove the old cowcatcher so I can replace it? The diagram I looked at didn't help much, and when I removed the screws and cover plates from the bottom, the cowcatcher piece still stays in tight. Is there any additional sc
rews or parts I need to remove before replacing the cowcatcher?" Now he is still waiting to find out HOW to replace it not how to get a new one.

A 40 year old Bachmann may not run at all, but if it will run on the old track it will run on the new.  Just make sure you get ns track.

I did a search and found out a little information.  All of B&M's passenger equipment, including gas cars were painted Pullman green up until 1940.  Bachmann's car were red, Walther's  car was green, and it was shorter than Bachmann's

I wonder how they worked the center track.  One way in the morning, and the other direction in the afternoon.

I just wonder what kind of control they had in the viewing cab.  It looks like some of them had a horn.  and maybe an air line to send  signals to the engine, like they used on passenger trains.  I am sure they had a brake valve in case they wanted to stop to check out something.

The dd1s were built starting in 1910. Most of them were replaced by the L5s in 1924 and they were sent to the Long Island.  in 1930 Penn rr change to AC.  the remaining DD!s were either send to the Long Island or scrapped.  Long Island units were scrapped 1949-1951.  Unit 3936-3937 is in the Penn. rr museum.  The pams were only used at slow speed in the yards or stations.
