HO / Re: Help for My Christmas Trainset

In order to extend the Auto Reversing Set you will need 6 packages (4 sections each package) of Bachmann Item # 44548 9" auto reversing track to extend the set an additional 18 feet. If you need the 18" curved, that's Item 44549. The lowest price I see on ebay is $40 for the 44548 and $32 for the 44549. Those prices include shipping. Good luck.

What is the difference between 44548 and 44511, 44549 and 44501?

If a person wants to extend the length of track that comes with a set, can additional pieces of EZ-Track be placed in the middle?

Thanks

As long power is supplied to each layout from one power supply you should be good to go.

Most, if not all, Bachmann DCC will run on DC, one at a time. Don't know about sound working. Back when I 1st started I used DC. I had to use 'blocks' to isolate sections of track to park engines not being used. Lots of extra wiring and on/off switches. When you go DCC just turn all of the switches ON and you're ready to go. Remove on/off switches and plastic isolators at your convenience. I you use a Dremel tool to cut the rail replace that piece of track.

HO / Re: EZ TRACK
May 28, 2025, 09:28:03 AM
Like Trainman203, I've used EZ-Track for many years. I've had a layout as large as 16'x16' u-shaped using 4' panels. I scaled back a bit to 16'x8' u shaped. EZ-Track makes it EZ (no pun intended) to make changes. The only problem I encountered was the 'regular' turnouts with the plastic frogs while running short wheel base engines. Some of these I 'fixed' by running pickup wires to the tender. All in all I'm happy with my choice.

HO / Re: Is Item #11411 2-8-0 DCC Ready?

According to info I found, this model was manufactured as DCC ready with the 8-pin socket in the tender. Info also places it about 25 yrs old. Good luck.

HO / Re: EZ Track Turnouts Power Routing Question
February 21, 2025, 01:44:44 PM
I have 20 EZ Track turnouts, some go to sidings, some go to yard tracks. I don't know of way to modify the turnouts. There may be someone out there smarter then me that would know if it's possible. I simply isolate the siding and/or yard tracks using a Dremel tool and run power through an ON/OFF switch.

HO / Re: Large layout power

My layout is U-shaped, 12'x16'x8' by 4' wide sections. I am using EZ Command Control with a EZ Command 5amp Power Booster. Power feeders are about 10' apart. So far I haven't had any power problems.

I'd like to replace the controllers that come with the Bachmann turnouts with momentary switches and route indicator lights mounted on a panel. Looking for suggestions and possible wiring info.

Thanks In Advance

HO / Metal Slide In Turnout Solenoids
January 28, 2025, 10:42:00 AM

I'm in need of a few of the metal slide connectors that go into the solenoids. If anyone has some solenoids that are burnt out I'll take them off of your hands.  I have good solenoids, just need the metal slide connectors. Not sure where the metal slides went.

Thanks in advance.

HO / Re: Finding A Loco Address
December 21, 2024, 08:02:06 AM
My EZ Command will program a loco to any address I chose. If I use a 'Test Track' I can address a 4 digit address. On the 'Mainline' I can only address a 2 digit address. I just start at the address assigned to a new loco of '3'. This particular loco appears to be Dead On Arrival. Doesn't show any sign of life. It has gone back to the seller. But thanks to all for responding.

Thanks Len. I tried running it on a non-DCC track and it doesn't respond at all. I have a Bachmann EZ Command Dynamis system. Is it capable of resetting CV8?I'm guessing that because it seems DOA you wouldn't be able to do anything.

HO / Finding A Loco Address
December 18, 2024, 03:58:05 PM
Is it possible to 'find' the address on a DCC loco when the owner doesn't recall it? I purchased a DCC unit from a private individual that was supposed to have been reset to address '3'. When I try to select '3' on my EZ Command it's not responding, both on the Mainline and/or Testtrack. This is a Spectrum unit. I'm not even sure that it is picking up power from the track. All my other locos work just fine. How can I test this unit?

Thanks
