I have a Bachmann Spectrum steam locomotive that is "DCC Ready". What decoder will work and where can I get it? It's a N&W J series locomotive.

Has anyone built a yard using EZ track? I would like to build a passenger yard and service area but I've only seen this done using either flex track or some variation of regular ho scale track. What kind of space would this require?

I currently run a DC system with EZ track. I have several turnouts and two crossovers on my layout. If I switch to Bachmann's DCC system do I need to change my track and switches?

I recently purchased an old Bachmann DC version of the N&W J series engines. I think it's about 20 years old and in good condition. I tested it on my track and the engine appears to be running - I can hear the motor turning. However, the drive wheels do not move at all so the engine is not moving. Is there info on site at Bachmann or elsewhere that has trouble shooting and maintenance info including disassembly if necessary?

I've been looking into doing a reverse loop. I have easy track on my layout. All the videos I've seen on YouTube indicate that I need to isolate the loop. Some of them show plastic inserts to use as rail joiners. I don't know if that could work with EZ rack. Does anyone have experience doing a reverse loop with EZ track?

Thanks for some good ideas on different removable either swing or lift out section. I understand the need to lay the track first. My question is after I lay the track and cut it what do I need to make sure I have power running through the track on the removable section? Does the removable section need its own or additional power or can I insert extra rail joiners to connect the cut sections of the teack.

I'm thinking of adding an addition to my layout and I have a concern on how to hinge the entry to the layout. I'm using Bachmann EZ track and I'm not sure how this would work. If anyone has added a hinged section to their layout, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks for the help. As I understand it, I will keep my switches connected to the DC powerpak but use a new DCC powerpak to operate the locomotives. Is that basically correct?

I have a small layout using EZ track. It has 2 crossovers and 2 turnouts. It is a DC only layout. I think I would like to convert to DCC. My question is
will my track and switches still work after I change over?

I have several crossovers and turnouts that I need extension wire to operate. I found that the newer wire does not work as well with the switches as the old thinner wire does. Does anyone have any ideas since the only extension wires now available are the ones that don't work for me. I might be doing something wrong but I have them hooked up just like the older version and the older ones work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using EZ track on my layout and have two crossovers, a right and a left, connecting the two parallel tracks. The left crossover functions fine. The right one is giving me a problem. If I turn the switch so the engine picks up the right turn and crosses over to the inside track - it works perfectly. However, if I just set the switch to keep the engine on the main outside track, it stops about the middle of the frog. I don't think the problem is mechanical but it could be electric. Any ideas? How can I fix this problem or do I need a new crossover? Thanks

I ordered the gauge, should have it by Tuesday 6/15. I can then check the wheels and the track. If that checks out, then I'll try adjusting the truck. Hopefully the problem will be solved.

It's a diesel locomotive. All black with the number 6440. I don't know the model number.

I have two tracks connected by Bachmann EZ track right and left crossovers. The left crossover works fine with either locomotive that I use. The right crossover works fine with one locomotive but the second one, a Bachmann Southern Pacific often fails to pass through OK. I looked at the wheels when the engine fails to make the crossover and the front wheels seem to accept the turn, but the rear wheels don't. Any suggestions? I run DC on a 4x8 layout. Thanks.
