I have a Dynamis (not Pro) also.  I've never run across this.  I'd power everything down, reconnect the Dynamis to the track then plug n the Dynamis and try the controller again.

You may get a tip or hint from Bachmann tech but I'd ask Bach Man here first.

Howdy Rail Roaders,

Bob left the forum at a time when answering a question for someone wasn't enough.  People had to follow up an answer with a definitive paragraph or page about why the answer to a question was correct or had to rearrange what someone said and regurgitate the same answer so it would read the same but in a more complex way.

It was a time of almost (if not actual) power struggle of egos here.  Bob got a gullet full and backed away.  He had to prove nothing to anyone nor ever saw a reason to.  You van bet if Bob gave you a bit of advise or an answer to a question it was correct.  If not, he was the first one to admit his mistake, although I can't remember any occasion where he had to do this.

I don't know how much hay Bob was going to bale this year or if he was able.  I'd imagine he's done with the first cutting and irrigating getting ready for any any additional cutting he may get.  There is a solice in driving a tractor through a field of fresh hay whether you're cutting, raking or baling.  The kind that only you know if you've done it yourself...or like driving your trains & all is clicking great.  I hope he and his dear wife were able to enjoy it this year.  And there are his cattle.  But I'm beginning to ramble.

I miss the olde farte and PD pokin' each other in the ribs, it always put a smile on my face.  I hope he's able to come back to line him out again and share some of that knowledge in the way he always did.


My layout has had very little attention this summer.  My helping hand has  been busy with his his own summer activities.  A few hills and valleys have taken shape and the wiring is sketched, ready to be strung for track when the time comes.  Two model buckboards, seven horses and a carriage have been put together and painted.  The steamers fireboxes and water tanks are empty.  Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Greetz folks.

I'm going to take a while off.  Along with life in a wheelchair comes troubles if you don't watch closely.  Over the last four years I've gained 40 lbs. and that has me putting more pressure on my butt.  Now I've developed a very small sore on my left buttock in the area where my legbone hooks on.  I'm spending a lot fewer hours in my chair and in front of my computer in order to heal it ASAP.  My two train-type buddies are doing summer time things with their families so no progress is being made on the CNL Rail Road. 

I'll be checking in from time to time, hopefully enough to keep up.

If things change soon I'll be back.  PD, I'll be bothering you if DS64 connection time comes around.  Jonathan keep up your good work on your scenery.  Yampa Bob, take it easy on PD...you need to remember he's a city boy.

The Bachmann 2-10-2 Light Steam loco I bought & equipped with a Soundtraxx Tsunami uses the Heavy decoder.  If you believe Soundtraxx, check their site for your loco & see what decoder it's listed under - light, medium or heavy.

No need to be sorry Jonathan, you stated your question well.  I have 3 passenger cars and and observation car that are old Tyco items.  I put metal wheelsets on them because they were dragging my re-railer.  No joy. I call my train guy Victor and he came up with some taller wheels.  He chuckled a couple times and said, "So much for prototypical, huh?"  I told him I wouldn't tell he sold 'em to if he didn't point them out.

I wish I could remember what brand they were - they were darkened and innexpensive.  I'll look for them on Walthers later.

In a steam locomotive the tell-tales are longitudinal holes drilled in the stays of the firebox to provide early warning of corrosion.

A tell-tale is also a series of ropes suspended over the tracks above the height of a boxcar. These ropes are intended to give warning to a brakeman on the roof of the train that the train is approaching a low-clearance obstacle, such as a tunnel or a bridge. A Chesapeake and Ohio Railway tell-tale had 17 of these ropes hanging from a tube suspended across the track, the bottom of the ropes 12" lower than the height of the obstruction, and placed 100 to 300 feet before the obstruction. On British Mark 1 carriages, a Tell Tale connects the emergency (communication) cord or chain to the train line to facilitate an emergency stop

Speaking of whatcha call its, I found two old Tyco scenery items that I need identified.

It's a broom or rake-like arm hanging off a pole that I assume hangs out over the track and trains.  It looks this simple and complex.

It's train top high - anyone have any idea what it is?  I don't.

If Bachmann can't supply you with parts, repair parts or missing parts or customization, it's tiime to take stock of what you need, invest in a Walthers Reference Catalog or call the larger hobby stores throught the states.

Yampa Bob would tell you to contact Caboose Hobbies.  What do you need?  Most gadgets and gizmos are available somewhere.

Do you have access to a DC transformer to use?  If you're using E Z Command you should be able to run it on #10.

Break with the norm and get realistic on the cost of DCC and sound on a loco.  $200 more for a 'top end' loco is a tad too much.
