General Discussion / EZ Track "N Scale" Set POWER
February 10, 2010, 09:28:29 PM
When expanding the track configuration on my EZ track set, i notice there is less power going to the trains (they run much slower and need more power on the controller to even rune) even the accessories are affected.  Can someone suggest a Bachmann product I can purchase for this set which will increase the power I get?   thanx  larry

General Discussion / DCC in plain English
February 10, 2010, 11:40:10 AM
I have two basic starter DCC sets; Bachmann  E-Z Command for my home &  NCE Power Cab (my club uses for our show modules). I am trying to understand what upgrades I can purchase for each set. I want to stay with the individual name brands for each type (for the purchases). I need more power for additional trains which I will use. For the Bachmann I have the walk around but no power booster. For the NCE Power Cab, nothing extra as of yet. What should I purchase (staying in the acquired sets), to boost power, walk arounds, and OTHER items, etc. Are the generic products for NCE that then show e.g. Digitrax  capable; a good way to go?  I run "N" scale.    thanx  alot   larry

General Discussion / Re: Bachmann track

To John. As it turned out I did not pay the Buy It Now price of $145 for the alleged 25- 30" pieces, but got it for a bid of $78.00, which turned out to be a great price for in essence 75 pieces of 10" track. It is not the price I paid which erks me, but the feeling that I was taken (I already have 10" track) by reading a description of the item which was false.

General Discussion / Bachmann track

I just purchased hat was purported to be 30" pieces of Bachmann EZ  "N" track from The Favorite Spot. I was surprised when i went to use them that they were THREE 10" sections connected to total 30".  The Favorite Spot says this is how Bachmann advertises it and they do not feel like they have to change their write-up to reflect the actual fact  of three 10"= 30" piece and I should discuss this on Ask The Bachmann.  Bachmann's web site only states 30" bulk track;25 pieces to the box. What is everyone's opinion about the Favorite Spot advertising of this item? should it be changed?  thanx   larry

General Discussion / Re: Bachmann turnout

Thanx for th info. I don't have a large setup (8x4) with multiple turns, circles, etc) for now ( will be made much bigger) but would rather spend a little more $ now than have to spend additional $ later on. i guess i should go with the WYE. also how large of a layout or how many locos would I need if i wanted to purchase a 5 amp booster now. thanx again  larry
