N / N scale coupler boxes
December 02, 2014, 10:57:20 AM
I haven't been here for a while & apologize if this was covered.  Does Bachmann make coupler boxes for the new sprung couplers?  I would like to use them on scratch built HOn3 rolling stock as well as on some N scale....thanks

N / New Knuckle couplers
May 30, 2014, 10:48:55 AM
Has anyone had any experience with the new Bachmann knuckle couplers with the springs. I recently bought a Bachmann Davenport switcher to use as the power for a Grandt line HOn3 box cab. I used the Kadee ng coupler for the front, but needed a shorter one for the back & found that the N gauge coupler on the switcher mated well with the other couplers & didn't require assembly. Does anyone know where I can purchase individual sets...seems most suppliers are selling them as sets of 12,  Don't need that many.   thanks

HO / Dear Mr. Bach-Man
March 01, 2012, 05:13:26 PM
I shared some of my frustrations about your products in the past, so I feel it only right to praise you for the 2-6-0 mogul.  It is the least expensive loco I have bought in MANY years & the first one with sound.  After minimal break-in it ran great & had great sound & can't beat the price....Congratulations.

HO / Bachmann Spectrum passenger cars
September 06, 2011, 09:07:14 AM
Need help in disassembling the Spectrum passenger cars. There are tabs on the bottom that look as if they could be pushed in, but don't seem to want to move.
                                                                  Thanks

HO / Climax replacement gears
February 01, 2011, 11:22:21 AM
I know Bachmann states that the have no replacement parts for the 2 truck Shay, but it seems to me that most parts in the new 3 truck Shay would be the same.
I don't think I have the split gear problem, unless it's completely split.  There is only movement in the rear truck. The gear could just be spinning on the axle.  I hear that they replace them with a Shay...Don't want the Shay & they seem to have the split gear problem also.

On30 / "O" scale structures

On30 / O scale figures & accesories
October 19, 2010, 01:17:37 PM
Anyone have a source for REASONABLY priced O scale figures, vehicles etc. The lifelike aren't very life like. The Woodland Scenics are a little better & the well detailed Prisers can cost $45 for 5 figures. Along the same line, the Athearn vehicles are almost $30 & they are undersize (50:1). Other less expensive ones are too big (43:1). Really a shame that mfgs. can't standardize.   Thanks for your input...Jerry

On30 / Bachmann 2-6-0
June 18, 2010, 07:36:43 PM
How dependable is the Bachmann 2-6-0 engine ( the one that comes with the train sets)   ? Thinking about getting into On30, along with my hO layout & Garden RR.

General Discussion / Industrial windows
March 19, 2010, 01:21:38 PM
I know I've seen older industrial buildings with some of the windows painted out, usually green or white. can't find any on the net & was wondering if any of you remember seeing this also. I'm making a mill turned warehouse & would like to include this feature, but would like to know if anyone could direct me to some pictures.  I think the workers did this to block the sun.  Thanks   Jerry

HO / Bowser Docksider w/ can motor
March 13, 2010, 10:31:47 AM
Does anyone know of anyone that still stocks the Bowser docksider 0-4-0 . with the can motor & gearbox.  I have one of the older ones with open frame motor & it would probably be cheaper to buy one that already has the can motor & gearbox than convert mine.   Thanks....jerry

HO / NWSL Climax gears
December 17, 2009, 05:23:34 PM
Just got the latest NWSL news. It states that they will be testing the new HO scale Climax gears soon.   Really hope Bachmann can come to some agreement with NWSL & reintroduce the Climax with the metal gears.
The Climax is a great looking loco & runs like a watch...until the gears go.The letter also stated that some Asian countries are copying some of NWSL products & selling them cheaper. They urge us not to buy them & I heartily agree. NWSL has always put out a Quality Product, It's not right for someone else to pirate their product after much was spent on R&D. Stick with authentic NWSL products & you won't go wrong.  No, I don't have a stake in the company, I've just used many of their products with excellent results.    Jerry
