Large / Little Big Hauler Freght Cars
June 16, 2020, 01:08:48 PM
Has anyone tried to put the Big Hauler knuckle couplers on any of the Little Big Hauler freight cars?

If so, do they line up with the standard Big Hauler couplers?

Large / Little Big Hauler Locomotives
December 22, 2016, 09:20:01 PM
I would like the people at Bachmann to have a chance to answer this before the rest of the world chimes in.

Is there room in the Little Big Hauler Locomotives for a DCC Decoder?
What is the stall current so a person can pick a proper decoder?

I have a friend that his young daughter is enjoying visiting the various train shows and clubs in our area and we would like to get her started with a Little Big Hauler set.  She had been learning a little about DCC and would probably like her locomotive to run with the others we run at the museum I volunteer at.

Once more, please let the people at Bachmann have a chance to answer, thanks,

Large / V & T #25 4-6-0
August 14, 2016, 08:34:29 AM
A friend has the V & T #25 he just acquired used.  Can someone tell us which version of the 4-6-0 it is so he can make some choices on DCC or Radio Control and he knows what is related to his loco on the available information on the web site.

Thanks,

General Discussion / WGH Show San Antonio T-Trak Layout
February 09, 2016, 02:56:45 PM
At the WGH show in San Antonio, TX, Feb 20 and 21, a group of Clubs and individuals coordinated by the San Antonio N Scale Club, SANTRAK, hope to set a new record for the longest continuous T-Trak Red Line in excess of 12 scale miles.  At the present time the record is 10.08 scale miles.

The layout will have 9 separate T-Trak Yellow Lines that should total close to that length as well.

Will let you know the final results.

Large / 8289X 2-6-6-2 DCC / Sound
September 21, 2011, 01:38:26 PM
I am looking at buying one of the 8289X 2-6-6-2's and would like to here from people that have purchased one and put DCC and Sound in them.

What speaker did you use?
Which DCC /Sound unit?
What problems did you face in doing the install?
What do you like and not like about your unit after the install?
If you had to do it again, what would yo do different?

Thanks for the help.

My new Climax arrived today.  Well worth the wait.  Look forward to using it at a train show with my Heisler, two truck and three truck Shay's.

Mine had the CV-29 Reverse Bit set from the factory.

Large / LS Percy
December 16, 2009, 05:47:42 PM
The first of 3 Percy and the Troublesome Trucks arrived today, two on order for our club and one for me.

There was no paperwork package and no clip to connect the power pack to the track.

Has any one else found this in the units they have received?

Large / Heisler DCC Wiring Connections
April 29, 2009, 06:31:21 PM
Looking at the DCC Wiring Connection diagram and something looks like it is missing, but then I may not see it.

The functions A B C D are shown but no connection for a + or Common point.

I am looking for some DCC / Sound boards and speakers that people have pulled out of their Large Scale 3 truck Shay that they would like to find a new home for.

If you have one you have replaced with some other unit and would like to get rid of it please contact me off line at the e-mail address shown in my Profile.

I am not big into sound for myself, but at train shows it is a big hit and I have some other geared locomotives that I can put them in.  I am happy with the one that came with my 3 truck Shay when I have used it at train shows.

No other replies needed, save the bandwidth.

Thanks,

Nathan

Large / large Scale Track
January 07, 2009, 06:25:06 PM
Just another push (Lee needs one every now and then) for Bachmann to do a larger radius large scale track for indoor use.  I am looking for tack to use at trains shows that can be set up and torn down quickly and will run larger equipment then the 'R1' radius that Bachmann has.

The turnouts can even have the same 'throw' mechanism as the 'R1' turnouts.  The track should be able to do simple passing sidings with out the use of 'adapter' sections.  The old LGB 'R5' had this, the LGB 'R3' did not.  The straight section of the LGB 'R3' turnouts we 10 mm to short.

The 'R5' radius of 2318 mm, 91.25" would be acceptable.  Longer straight sections say 600 mm, 900 mm, and 1200 mm.  A proper 'terminal' track would help, as would insulating sections, both straight and curved.

Tell Lee we need it yesterday!

If you are in the San Antonio Texas area between November 17th and December 2nd, the San Antonio Garden Railway Society division of the Texas Transportation Museum invites you to visit our small Large Scale display at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens Halsell Conservatory.

If you do visit and have had a chance to visit other Botanical Gardens that have Large Scale displays, we would like you input as to what we can do better next time.

Information on and the location of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens can be found at:

Large / Bachmann Track and new 20.32 equipment
October 26, 2007, 11:58:29 AM
The Bachmann track that now on the market is a good indoor small diameter track.  I know a number of people that have indoor large scale layouts that use it.

The new 20.32 equipment says: 'Minimum 8' diameter curved track required'
or: 'This locomotive performs best on curves with a minimum 8' (1600 mm) diameter'.

Is there a chance that Bachmann will be bring out its own track that this equipment can run on, even if it is not 100% compatible with the older track?

One problem area most large scale track on the market has right now is the ability to do double crossovers.  'Y' turnouts for doing reversing 'Y's in the 8 to 10 foot diameter area would be nice to have.

A 'terminal' track for electrical connections in the new track line would be a good item as well as in 'insulated terminal' similar to the LGB 10152 for doing blocks, reversing loops and detections for signaling.

General Discussion / Possable new board
February 25, 2007, 11:06:27 PM
Bach-man,

There are a large number of posts related to DCC in all the boards, to help in reducing the duplication of questions and help requests, could we have a DCC board?  It would say:

DCC: General questions and help area for DCC
