N / Tacking track to foam board
January 03, 2011, 04:25:50 PM
I want to use something to tack the E-Z track to foam board.  I am looking for something that will allow me to pull it up later if needed?  Not sure I am making sense, but any input would be great.

Do they make insulated rail joiners for N scale EZ track?  I am not skilled enough in the electrical part of model rail roading to start cutting track.

I power provide directly from the ez commander to the DCC turnouts and switches or do you use a different power source?  Thx for your help.

N / Wiring Accesories and feeders
November 18, 2010, 10:14:11 PM
I want to use the ez command power pack for train operations.  My question is how do you provide power to the accesories, such as building lighting, switches and the plethera of other things that required power.  Also, do you power the feeders using your primary power pack.  My intention is to use switches that are DCC compliant.  I am ordering some books to help, but for some reason these areas are weighing heavily on my mind.  Thx again for being patient with me.  Please suggest the best books foe ez track layouts and wiring.

N / Feeder track
November 18, 2010, 04:44:27 AM
I understand the need for feeders, but how many for what distance and what do you wire the feeders to, to provide current.  I want to make a small 3x6 layout running two trains.  Thx for your help.

November 18, 2010, 04:06:02 AM
I want to build a 3x6 n scale layout using bachmann ez track and the bachmann DCC system.  I just want to run two trains.  I am trying to find some good track plans and layout examples to get me started.  Thx.

N / EMD F-9 Explorer
November 17, 2010, 03:07:17 PM
Wife bought me the n scale explorer set to get me started.  I really like the locomotive.  The only thing I am curious about is the power pack.  The loco doesn't start moving until the dial is at 35.  Is this normal?  Doesn't seem like a big deal, just curious.  It was fairly obvious the train set sat on the hobby lobby shelves for a long time.  I don't want to lube it if it isn't necessary.  I would be greatful for any advice.
