Try this website  http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/catalogue/firstclass  . I've purchased smoke units from this website to replace the damaged ones in my old N Rowa 2-8-8-2.

I glued some lead weight to the roof of the cab , and it now pulls 8 heavyweight passenger cars (no grades ).

N / F7A/B Speed Difference
May 19, 2009, 11:05:30 AM
I have just purchased a brand new N scale Spectrum F7 A/B set. When speed matched, spaced 6" apart, the A unit is much faster than the B unit. Is this common or is it a problem? I am worried that I might ruin the A unit motor if it has to do the work of pulling the rolling stock as well as the B unit.
Thank you,

HO / Decoder install on 4-8-4
February 26, 2009, 01:08:46 AM
I have an Bachmann 4-8-4 and I will be using the MRC 1823 Decoder and the MRC Blackbox to control it, on a DC layout. The motor is already isolated from the frame. There are three capacitors ( red arrows ) on the motor and two resistors. My question is, do I need to remove the capacitors?
  Thank you for your assistance.

I contacted Bachmann and they will only replace the whole Loco. Thank you for your replies.

N / Swapping 4-8-4 Chassis
November 12, 2008, 09:43:35 AM
Will the newer split frame (clear box) chassis fit the older 4-8-4 body shell (white box) ? I have an Union Pacific silver and grey 4-8-4 that the gears have split. Bachmann no longer produces this paint scheme or parts and will not be replaced with the same under warranty. I wouild like to purchase a newer Loco and swap chassis's.

Thanks

N / Re: traction help please!!

I didn't shim the traction wheels on my 4-8-2 , I just glued some lead weight to the inside of the cab roof . Now it pulls 9 heavyweight passenger cars with no slipping.
