For Mr. Jim Banner and others: I have read several articles on dcc some suggested by Mr. Banner, But i am  still unclear on, if i need a reverse loop module with dcc if i run a loop back into the main track. well aware with dc this must be installed. and would assume same with a dcc system??????

Hey: I have one loco on dc i think i will either lay seperate track for it, or get basic decoder from bachmann as it is one of theirs, and then can run it dcc. It was bought 2 x mases ago and has maybe 2 hrs on it, see some decoders for 25 bucks if they will fit inside its a santa fe diesel. probably best thing to do if can do it on cheap!! already have 2 others with digital commander set up . I do want to say thanks once again for every body's knowledgeable and quick response, and hope every body has great week end coming up!!

I want to thank all of you for your timely responses, i knew i would gain valuable info here, even though i realize i was attempting to push the envelope a little ;D so abck to layout drawing board ;) I may just go the route of linking all 3 tracks and running he 3 locos on dcc, even though one of them is dc, it is my understanding it can be run on the controller on position 8 or 10?? supposedly without harm to the loco?? I will be running the basic digital commander controller.

Heres  one of my famous questions: Does any one make a track crossing device 30, 60, ect where i can cross a dcc trrack with a dc track??? have both and to save space in routing of tracks would like to be able to run the dcc and cross the dc track while it is in motion elsewhere on the board moving. Is this possible ?? Thanks.

dont take me as bad mouth, cause others have week spots too,was just saying,I have 2 basic decoder equiped locos good stuff and one would think they went to that trouble why not have add on sound card for them?? I will admit their sound equipped locos are heck of a lot cheaper than some other brands out there which if take the covers off arent built any better ya know.

It would seem to me,as these locos have basic decoders on board, bachman would offer an add on sound board at reasonable price?? Other manufacurers are doing so!! After looking at the doecoders, they are cheap and made over seas 10 bucks worth of components, a complete board with everything on it shouldnt be more than 50.00!!

Greetings: I have the digital commander - easy command set purchased 2 x- mases ago. it comes with: 1-f t a loco all wheel drive, and 1-gp-40 all wheel drive. 1-28-128 speed step controller ?? a 1 amp power supply, and 56x38 oval track with switch and siding. cant find any other numbers id's ect on box.
My question: Does bachman make a  (diesel)  sound decode rfor these locos?
Is it plug and play, or does the sound have to be prgrammed also?? as dont see any options in the cd or papers for this. or willi have to put totally new boards in?? Thanks for your help.

Here goes: 2 christmases ago purchased the bachman digitalcommander deluxe. It has 2 locos with dcc on board. one is a emd ft-a the other is a emd gp40 both dcc equiped. On the box says sound. says with wz command control center. I have viewed the cd several times, read allthe paper work, butdo not see the sound decoder in blow up, andsee nothingaboutprogramming sounds. Assume this is hype printed on the box!
!. Can i add bachman soundboards to these??
2. If so do i need to step up to the dynamis controller to program all of this??
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi sorry got long winded on reply to doneldon, So on to original subject i am no wondering if I can add sound to my dcc locos?? I viewed the cd and read all theinstructions and still dont see anything that says howto program the sound card on the dcc controller. I realize itis basic at the bottom of gera, but it would seem the controller would be able to do that in basic instructions?? Any body can tell me??
