Sounds like the engine/engines have dropped from the speed step setting some how. There is a " CV " for engine speed built in to the DCC card in each engine. I'm no genius on DCC , but, that's what I think.
To reset you need to have a controller capable of setting CV' s .

By the red engine I assume it is the FTA Sante Fe . Check the trucks, make sure the side frames are snapped in place and not binding on wheels/gear. While your checking eyeball the drive gears in both trucks. You can lube the gears with some Silicone oil or an oil that is plastic compatible. If you find damaged gears submit the engine for repair or replacement.

I have Bachmann GP40,GP38-2 and a FT-A All are DCC controlled. What I was wondering is if there are sound decoders available for each of them and would a sound unit fit in these locos.Has anyone done this? your input is appreciated.

HO / Re: Address change for a Bachmann GP-40
January 21, 2012, 08:56:12 AM
No I haven't tried OPS mode only because the Digitrax manual said to use Page on a programing track. The 10k resistor wasn't used since it is suggested to use it when the when the new address is not recognized by the programmer. If the system did not recognize the entry then why could it go back to the old address and operate the loco?
     There is not any logic.

HO / Address change for a Bachmann GP-40
January 20, 2012, 07:14:25 PM

Info needed; I tried changing the address on my Bachmann GP40 ,DCC loco, from a two digit to a four digit and it seems to accept the change, but,it won`t function. However, when I go back to two digit (02) it works.Tried this several times and had same results.
I am using a "Digitrax Zephyr Xtra" Dcc control system on a program track as per Digitrax instructions. Anyone have advice to give?

HO / Re: Power connector

I guess that is what I'll have to do.Just figured that if Bachmann is supplying it with other items that it would have a part # and could be purchased separately.
Thank you for your efforts to help me.

I appreciate your reply, but, the BAC00002 is not the correct one. this does come with the DCC sets, however, the sets come with an additional Power connector wire that has "U" shaped terminals that hook up to screw type transformer terminals instead of the phono style plug. The BAC00003 has the wire I am looking for and cannot find part # for it. If anyone knows the part# for it,please supply.

           Anyone know item # for the N/S E-Z track 18" curved re-railer w/power connector? the re-railer w/o power connector is 44529.
It is mentioned in description of non-powered type. to use with DCC power.
