Or use Igus bearings like I have done on other large scale motorblock repairs.

Drill out the existing plastic and insert the new bearing.

What is the SDK purchase?

Maybe the 2-4-2 side tank loco in G scale means something similar coming soon for On30?

Mark

Kader bying Sanda Kan.  Several people have had shuffles or loss of production overall, but that is fodder for other discussions.

The 2-4-2 has been offered before, along with the other "large" scale offerings.

And like the Porters in On30, a popular offering in their time and frequently requested.

Dear Steve,
We think Lewis and Charlie are doing a great job in 1:29 (I personally have most of their locos and scores of cars) and we have no plans of leaving our Narrow Gauge niche.
On my railroad, I simply run one scale at a time.
Have fun!

So I guess the 1:29 QJ came in under the radar?

All:

Interesting reading (and nice modelling) here:

http://4largescale.com/Thompson/41.htm

http://4largescale.com/Thompson/42.htm

"I just called the Bachmann parts department - (800) 356-3910, ext. 11 or 17 - and asked for the trucks (with metal wheels) from their large-scale 20-foot car series, I didn't need a part number (at least she didn't ask me for one.)"

I guess I am not the first/only one to think that the small trucks look better on the log cars than the larger ones?

No date on his website of his call tho......

Large / US dealer delivery date for the Davenport?

Bach-man-

As the Europeans and Asian dealers have these, when will our dealers have these for us?

Wanting to order a green, no, red, no green..... ::)

Thanks!

Wow, my dealer must be an issue behind.

BTW, Walthers has a mark up on Peco, the TT can be found from other vendors for much less.

Thanks Bach-Man, do let us know what you find.

Some fan photos can be found here, nice looking model:

I always liked these, my father scratchbuilt one in HOn3 40+ years ago that is one of my favorite of his models.

Funny, I had a similar but different thought.....

Take the HO model and adapt the drive train from the Liliput-Stangel (Bachmann Europe) 2095 class H0e diesel and have the model in HO and HOn30....

Plus the recent article on re-gauging the 70 Tonne loco to HOn3.....

.....hhmmmmmmmm

All:

There is one thing in large scale on the Japanese Shima Models website that has not been listed as a new relase.

For Y2300 (about $21 US) were these:

http://www.45mm.jp/img371.jpg

These are the little trucks from the tiny 1:20,3 Cairo and Kanawha boxcar.

However, there is no stock number, so not sure if this was something only from the dealer?

They do not show on the Bachmann order parts section either?

Any chances of seeing these?

A Bachmann model of these little 0-6-2T locomotives would be a good addition to many narrow gauge rosters.

There are a slew of nice Baldwin 3' gauge prototype fodder out there, hopefully we will see more......

While I have no (personal) interest in the mallet, I am sure it will be a good seller and looks very nice.

It would be neat to see the large scale 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 redone with some modern touches, but not before my EBT mikado!  ;D

Later,

K

With two other makers (Accucraft and Yoder) with these coming, are the chances good that Bachmann will do one?

Seems like market saturation to me?

General Discussion / Re: Happy Canada Day

I listened to my new Lenoard Cohen CD today (the recent Capitol release of his 1967 debut album) in hono(u)r of it.   I guess I could run up to the Publix and get a Coffe Crisp bar too, so happy that someone has them in Nashville, TN now!

Unfortunately, the trend even in the smaller scales is "bigger is better" for whatever reason.  The small locos would (I think, but who am I) fill a void.  I have always been a fan of smaller locos, so there is a bias I guess.  The current side tanker Porter is nice, I have one along with the saddle tanker that are slowly getting a few odds and ends detail wise.

Some good options in your list, but the light early Porter was already done by Accucraft in brass, with another relase this fall, so maybe not wishing to go there, dunno.....

Working with what Bachmann have some tooling for already:

I would hope that the Climax would be on the short list, maybe even a backdated version with oil box headlamp and wood/steel cab?

And maybe Bachmann took note of the Porter and Bell project of the Bachmann "Indie"  on My Large Scale?

An updated 1:20.3 version of the 2-4-2T Baldwin would be nice too....

Nice to dream I guess.

EDIT:  puctuation use gives strange smiley faces?

I use a home-made supply into an Aristo TE.  The basis of my supply was a 18VAC 10 amp transformer found on eBay fed through a bridge with a capacitor and fuse.

Before this, I was using (don't laugh) an ancient button type Lionel pack set at +/-18VAC.
