With a reluctant conversion to N scale for space reasons, I've picked up a Bachmann Prairie as a test loco until Rheneas eventually arrives. (Get over to Trainworld and get him for $90 while you can, btw.) Also waiting on the re-released Tomix Thomas ($60 as a 3-pack with A&C, $100 as a basic oval set, $150 as a "deluxe" set.)

N / N Scale Switches – Radius Matches
October 22, 2016, 12:13:07 PM
Hey there. I'm planning a layout and have only a few switches, but two are located on curves. (And yes, I realize it's breaking a "rule" of trackplanning.) What radius is the curve of the standard switches (#44861 and #44862)? Bachmann has about five or six curves of different radii, and I'd like to match that of the switches if at all possible.

HO / Parts for Irish Railway Set?
September 08, 2015, 05:10:53 PM
Hey there everyone. Some of you may remember the Irish Railway set (#000651) from years and years ago. Since it's been long discontinued, is there a way to get parts for it?

N / Small Turntable Needed
February 21, 2008, 12:37:30 AM
I am planning a very small layout; I need a turntabld 5" dia. at the most (layout is on a  43x10" shelf) and there seem to be few if any built-ups/kits for a length this small.

Scratchbuilding is a last resort, if anyone could point me to a small commercially made turntable for N, that would be great. I am not an experienced modeller, and don't want to take on anything too complicated.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Too many threads!

Dan, that is the asinine post I have ever seen.

A lot of people on SiF actually ARE adults, meaning OVER 18, and they hold steady jobs, and have a life outside of Thomas. Which I sadly cannot say for the pre-teen morons that your cause seems to have created an army of on YouTube.

You know very well that SiF did not cause your problems, nor are they now. YOU are the only reason why you are not there right now. It is your own fault you caused this. People on SiF do not think they are better than other forums. You are simply jealous because Ryan will not forgive you, and because SiF has been proactive in the world of Thomas. Please, do us all a favor, and stop bitching about it. You sound like the 8-year-old twits on YouTube.

General Discussion / Train-related eBay auctions

Post cool train stuff you've won on eBay.

For example, I won this little number a few weeks ago.

That was made with iMovie was it not? I could tell by the rain effects...

But yeah that's cool GG. I recently won a vintage Triang 5700 Pannier off eBay, I'll have it soon and post pics maybe.

Yeah, one of my best pals is a railfan. He's also a redneck, but that's immaterial.  ;D

HO / US-UK voltage problem?
November 01, 2007, 05:52:20 PM
I'm planning on ordering a 57xx Pannier tank from Bachmann UK this holiday season. I live in the US. I'm wondering, will locos made for British currents (as their household current is different from ours) not work with power supplies and track made for US?

If it will not work on US equipment, then are there any alternatives?

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks, Tristan.
