Have new GP9 w/DCC. Have removed shell, but need to remove cab to re-install windows. Cannot figure out how to detach cab from body. Please help.

Aw, c'mon. NOBODY knows how to get the cab off? That's very surprising.  Next comes dynamite!

Maybe you might be the first one to do this.
You might also ask at the Kalmbach Model Railroader forum but be sure to mention you asked here with no responses.
Good luck.

Look at the exploded diagram here:
https://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/dwg/dwgs/HO_GP9_DCC.pdf

About 3/4's of the way down where the cab attaches you'll see small squares where the front and rear cab walls would slide down. Those are for small tabs on the inside edge of the front and rear walls. I haven't opened mine in a while, so I don't remember if you can push the tabs out from inside the shell, or if you have to pry the cab slightly away from the shell to release the cab.

Either way, the trick is to release the tabs and carefully lift the cab off. Reverse to reinstall.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

Figured it out. Difficult, but do-able. Thanks.

I am attempting the removal of this also. Would you post what exactly you figured out or does anyone else have more complete information. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. This seems like a great Locomotive. It's a NOS and I'd like to access the inside for lubrication and possibly an upgrade to a Soundtraxx decoder to add sound. I'm very new at this hobby. So any information for the rookie would be greatly appreciate! I really don't want to break the thing.

Thanks!

If I remember right, there are two screws under the fuel tank holding the body on, along with the coupler pockets. The cab comes off with the body.

That worked. Thank You!! I took all those screws out before, but I didn't remove the coupler. That was the thing I missed.
