I'm interested in purchasing a new Spectrum C19 chassis. Is there any chance that a motor and gearbox can be purchased?

Hey doc,  The c-19 Chassis is available in the parts store.  It is complete with the motor and gearbox.  The motor an gearbox do not seem to be available as a separate item.

Motor and gearbox were sold separately, the cover was another separate item. I purchased these bits back when they were avalible. if it isn't in the picture you do not get.

Bill, Thanks for your reply. As was mentioned, the photo on line doesn't show the chassis with motor. Can I be guaranteed that if I order the chassis will it come with the motor?

RGSNH

Call there parts dept, only way you will know for sure, Maybe.

Well I got a response from the parts department and they said the chassis comes with the gearbox but no motor. Does anybody have a suggestion as to which motor can be purchased to work with the gearbox?

better buy it from bachmann... different sizes, mounting holes, and general unavailability in exactly what you want...

Doc,
here is the info from my spare motor/gearbox. if the gearbox is included, you probably do not get the worm gear and certainly not the flywheel. also be sure they are not just talking about the gear on the axle.

The picture of the chassis on site sure does not look like it has the gearbox... the gearbox protrudes above the chassis proper, the motor is horizontal... it would show clearly in the chassis picture...

If you need the chassis and motor and gearbox, I'd buy a used loco I think.

At the price they're asking for these puppies not sure it's worth it. I have one and it's going to be a very tough decision to throw away the boiler and cab. Since I model in DSP&P, my objective is to build the DSP&P 191 in 1:20.3. It appears that this chassis is the only one that comes close to meeting my needs.

Hi Doc, Not sure he can do it, but you could try ordering it thru Robbie at RLD Hobbies. prices are the much lower street price.   Check this link for the phone number. https://rldhobbies.com/
