Bought a Bachmann trolley at the Novi Michgan train show today. I was told by the booth owner that it was new and he tested it. It runs pretty good but has a pretty loud "clicking" noise. I think this is common with thses but I am wondering if someone knows what the fix is? Thanks.

I probably will not be of any help, but if you do a search on here using: "trolley noise", You will find quite a few responses to your question.   I for one, was looking into purchasing a trolley for my layout. Sorry to hear that even new versions of the trolleys are making noise.

Like I previously stated, I'm not much help, but hopefully the responses from your search and others will provide some clues.  But by all means, if you find an answer us know too!

Thanks for your response.....I don't think this is a new version. This appears to be new old stock. I paid $25.00.

Beware of used motorized items, even if presented as "new".  Shrink wrapping machines can re-wrap things just as good as if they came from the factory like that.  I've only ever bought three engines from someone I didn't know and I was lucky.

More people might be able to help with ideas if you included what scale and model trolley you bought.

I think you may just need to return it to Bachmann, or look it up online? Did it happen to have an instruction manual?

A clicking noise is usually indicative of cracked axle gears.
