So I am new to this train thing, and my wife wants to get one of the auto reversing trains to put on top of our Cabinets for Christmas. I have looked at the "Bachmann Trains - Village Streetcar "Christmas" Auto Reversing Set - On30 Scale - Runs on HO Track" and wasn't sure how much track is on that, or how much it can be extended to, with the power source that is given. I have about 23'ish feet of cabinets that I would like it to travel back and forth on. (23 feet there, and 23 feet back).

 

If this would work for me, GREAT! Does it have the right amount of track or would I need to get some more? Or If this is not the best set up, please if you could help me pick out what I need, it will make a little "u" like shape with two turns on it. I already have a train that goes to O-guage tracks and not sure if that would work on your tracks or not. I would LIKE to not spend a crazy amount on this, just because Its just for Christmas, so don't need the "top of the line stuff, by any means. Just a set up for the little trolley to slowly go back and forth.

In order to extend the Auto Reversing Set you will need 6 packages (4 sections each package) of Bachmann Item # 44548 9" auto reversing track to extend the set an additional 18 feet. If you need the 18" curved, that's Item 44549. The lowest price I see on ebay is $40 for the 44548 and $32 for the 44549. Those prices include shipping. Good luck.
