Hello. I am brand new to the forum and I have a question about the new On30 2-6-6-2.

Like earlier offerings, do these models come with a range of stacks, pilot wheels, and other detail options? I cannot decide which version to purchase but this won't be a problem if these details are furnished with each model. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hey Bob,

Bachmann has an ad for the 2-6-6-2 on the back cover of the latest On30 Annual.

It shows included parts for the fuel loads, headlights, pilot, and stacks.

BTW, Bachmann claims that the engines operates on 18" radius curves!

Bob,

My 2-6-6-2 came with a coal load installed in the tender.   There was also a wood load and oil bunker with the engine.   Also,  there was extra domes,  stacks,  pilot,  and pilot truck.

Ebtbob, how do you like your 2-6-6-2? Does it dwarf your other engines?

Jack Johnson

Mike,

The 2-6-6-2 does not dwarf the other Bachmann ON30 engines. It is, of course, longer, but the 2-8-0, Climax, and 2-6-0's are taller both the locomotive and tenders. It does run great, sounds fantastic, and does, indeed, run on 18" radius curves. Bachmann did a very nice job on this locomotive.

Jack, I didn't need to hear that! Now I may have to buy one for my layout.

I'm running inside frame forneys, a climax, a shay, a mogul, and two porters.

I can only sit and salivate waiting on mine.

Can one of you fellas measure the On30 2-6-6-2 from coupler to coupler, wheel base, width and height?

How much overhang in actual inches will it have on 18" radius?

Sorry for many questions, but as they say, the stew is on the fire now.

Mike,

I know, I had to have one and it was worth the wait! Have fun.

I got mine today. It had wood, oil, coal, stacks, pilots etc etc etc.

The wood load looked particularly good. It might stop me from needing to find a O scale coaling tower LOL.
