Kids Xmas village depends on this working - Save our set up if you can.

Hi bought one of these sets along with additional track – brand new.

System works fine with my Trolley(Happy holidays version). It goes all the way along the track from left to right until it reaches the wired auto reversing track then it stops and does nothing. I even had success bringing the train back when I undid a piece of the track it came back until I put the track back in and then it reversed. But on the whole the auto reversing does not work

Are these sets known to be temperamental I am sure I have the track in the right order and connections are good as it makes the whole run just does not reverse. (B b-b b-a a-a a-a a-a a-b bb-b )

Any advice ? Is this a common problem how do most people fix it ? can you get replacement wired a-b track lengths?

Is the extra track you purchased the 'auto-reversing' type?

Standard track will not work properly with auto-reversing sets.

If you did get auto-reversing track, you can double-check the connections of the A/B sections by removing the black cover underneath.

Great advice mate, appreciate that......Track fine its the auto reverse  type so no issue
Took off the back of the ab track all looks ok although the orange wire looked a tad dodgy.
I notice that the red light on the controller has now gone out is this as there is a loose connection on the wired ab track or could the fuse have broken.
Can you buy the wired tracks and controllers anywhere as spares.

Thinking buying a whole new set for £130 as ive spent so long on this and just accepting that i bought a brand new dud.

trouble is its an American product so i can not ring for help and postal costs for bits are trough the roof. :(

Are they normally reliable as the cost for this set to not work is going up massively

missing piece to this village is proving a pain.

I'm afraid that those track sections are only available in sets.

As for the fuse/controller, you can contact Bachmann and see if they have replacement parts.

Alternatively, you may be able to find a used set for a lower price than a new one.

controller fixed --- just a fuse in plug
re wired- wired ab track
second non wired ab track look a little basic just 2 wires?

Flare

Those two wires should connect to the B end's rails, there is a gap in the rails between the two sides.

It's possible that the gap is being bridged somehow, that would prevent the set from working properly.

Interesting so you think its wired wrong or correctly it does seem over simple the non wired track how should it look. And I've blocked the gaps so they should be fine these wires are my last throw of the dice then I'm going to buy a bigger ho reversing track maybe the 25100 norman rockwells main street christmas on30 street car set. Bit worried about it being battery operated but a bigger trolley would suit my lemax village scale.....thank for any help once again m8

The non-Norman Rockwell On30 Christmas trolley can still be found, either on its own or in an auto-reversing set.

I assume you're in Australia?  (I don't know any other countries that say 'mate')

I found Bachmann Europe's stockist page, perhaps you can find what you need nearby.
