Currently in mine is my IHC B&O Heavy Weights. I'm repainting the roof on them from grey to black. Along with them is the Casket Coach for Purdy's funeral train(never finished it but its so close!) and some odd ball projects.

one on the right has been painted, just finishing up the one on the left now, 6 to go! you can also see the casket coach body at the lower left.

Inside of the casket coach.

Whats in your yard?

Taking your question quite literally:

I have replaced MANY plastic wheels over the past 7 years.  These wheelsets have been piling up in my Locomotive Servicing Yard.  I have just completed turning them into loads for gondolas:

I have filled 5 gondolas so far.  The three loads in the photo are for future 41' gondolas.  And I STILL have lots of wheels leftover.  Soooo...

I built this old IHC kit; won this at a Train Show raffle:

I'm clearing a space in a corner of my layout for a Foundry and Wheel Factory, to be named later.

Anyway that's my current project.  And the wheelsets were actually in my yard.  ;)

Regards,

Jonathan

My Work yard as of 9/26:

B&O #6 3 Truck Shay - Needs new paint and very last axle on the water tender keeps jaming up.
B&O #467434 Snow Plow - Trying to get the headlight to work, will a 9 volt batter work?
Undec 2 Truck Climax- Something in the gear box, runs but the drive shaft doesn't turn
B&O #4 3 Truck Heisler - Trying to get it to quiet down a bit
Winter time Express 4-4-0 - Missing Smoke Stack

And on the good side of things, i found ONE of the missing engines by accident. it was in a box of rolling stock. don't remember putting it there, last i remember i put it back into the Bachmann Box, it is now sitting on the yard track to be repainted here she is:

Going to paint it to be much like this engine I did way back when:

I might note that while the B&O never had a 4-8-4, they had begun building what amounted to a
4-1-1-1-1-4.  As I recall the loco was to have each axle separately powered by a small V-type steam engine set down between the frames.  The project was abandoned before it got too far along.

Yep. I have a book about B&O STeam Power and it has the diagram for it in the book, along with a diagram for a 4-6-4-2 and a 2-8-4.

B&O-

An easier way to go for the lights in your snowplow might be surface mount LEDs and button batteries.

Yep, it was a ridged frame, and to me was an ugly looking engine. looked like they had it shipped from the UK with the handles on the front.

Balto,

I just want to comment on how nice the J looks in B&O paint.  The lines of the paint scheme compliment the lines of the loco perfectly.

B&O maybe didn't have these, but they should have!
