Rather than drag everything forward (with missing pictures and all)  I'd thought I'd do a recap and update all in one.

You remember the void ?

..raw materials and a jig...

...and what I came up with.

Then there was the last shot.

Now, fast forward to the little bit of 'void' left.

I'm gradually filling in the bowl shaped bluff behind the trestle.  Starting on the left (or Northeast) end.

...and also from the right (Southwest).

Which leaves the middle:

The 'water' source will be the pond at the top.

The little cardboard circular thing in the remaining void will be where the pond spills via waterfall and by a
second waterfall down to the creek flowing under the trestle.

Here's one of my four GP-15-1's dragging a peddler freight across.

And if you missed anything, report it to security.

Till next time...

That is one great piece of trestle work and scenery is also looking like it belong's there.

That is really looking good Ken. The trestle looks like it has been there for years.

Well done!

Picking up where I left off...

Temporarily arranging rock formations

Filling in around with wall plaster.

A little bit yet to cover.

And finished:

Next and final step, adding water, falls, currents and ripples.

As you can see from the last picture, I have quite a few 'voids' to fill.

Until next time.

Those last few shots are really impressive, Ken. Fantastic work!

I really like that scene.  Makes me wonder what you're going to do to the rest of the layout.

Good job!  I like the security agency ad.

Ken Huck

Thought I'd add a few more progress photos, so now I'm movin' on up the back of the void.

You can see that I still haven't 'poured' any water yet.

And there's still a few 'straight edges' that needed to be blended in.

The tunnel portals will have to be finished, but first I'll have to the inside of the tunnels.

Once I complete this 'triangular' portion, I'll be going onto the back wall and start on the mining district.

...more to follow...

Ken Huck

...pickin' up where I left off, half of one of the tunnel portals is finished.

This area will probably be next.

Still have a lot more to do.  Maybe, just maybe, one of these days I'll get enough motivation to start on all
the water falls and pools......maybe...

bbmiroku

Or they could be dried-up or seasonal rivers?

Terry Toenges

So you're scratch building the portals? Great job.
Feel like a Mogul.

Ken Huck

Not scratched.  It's a Hydrocal casting from Woodland Scenics that I had saved from the 'earlier' layout.
I  am planning on scratch-building the other one using left over 'raw' materials from the trestle project.

Thanks to all for your interest.

Ken

Ken Huck

Here's a scratch-built tunnel portal.  I made this last night.  I used the Woodland Scenic one as a guide.
I had to make it a little wider because of the converging tracks from the siding.

You'll notice the bold pattern is a little off because of the width and still has to be shifted a bit to the right.

Anyway, thanks for looking and now back to the....next phase...
