Hello All,
I'm looking at buying an EMD GP30 for my son in Reading colours. I've seen it in a shop over here in the UK, but notice it has buckeye coupplers which aren't compatible with the Hornby system he's already got. I know you can normally swap the buckeyes for Hornby style couplers, but on the model I was looking at (product code 60802), the buckeyes are screwed into the body. Does anybody know of any couplers available that will allow me to swap them over so he can have this locomotive? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Would it be possible to remove the Hornby coupler from the front of one car and install a buckeye coupler in its place?  Such adapter cars are commonly used when more than one type of coupler are used on a railroad.
Growing older is mandatory but growing up is optional.
