Bumping this thread to share that the Gordon faces are complete! I just need to finish Emily before worrying about Diesel and Henry once they're released.

A quick group photo just for fun.

A shame that Gordon still has to wait for his coaches; the angry expression might stay on him for a while until Bachmann's coaches arrive...

Thank you JonoDomino!

I've recently joined an N scale club, and I'm able to run some of my Thomas models there once I get decoders installed. I've been toying with the idea of adding some non-rail characters to my collection, at least as placeholders in case Bachmann ever announces them later down the road. Right now, I'm leaning toward Bluebird for Bertie and an ERTL miniature for Trevor. I'm a little stumped on what might work for Terence or Harold. Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of merch or any alternative for those two?

Now that the range is 5 years old, I'm kinda debating if I should get into it now or wait a bit? I'm thinking once the Express Coaches are released, I might give this range a try.

Though I haven't shared my collection, here are the engines.

I'll provide a rating of each engine out of 10.
Thomas: 6.5/10
Percy: 9/10
James: 7/10
Toby: 9/10
Gordon: 9.5/10

Thomas and James are a bit underwhelming because of the facial shapes and molded whistles, how unfortunate. I believe Gordon is the best looking (as of this time, imo). Can't wait to see Henry's painted sample soon.

I did purchase a Graham Farish Class 42 Warship since it's Diesel 10. The space between Gordon and the diesel are for the remaining 3 to my collection. Henry, Edward, and Duck. It'll take a while for these three to make it to the shelves. Please don't ask me about the obvious. I'm skipping on some engines due to recent price hikes. As model trains have become expensive over the years, it's best to stick with the characters you'll be committed to buying. The next review will be Henry once he releases. I hope it gives everyone a peace of mind with more reviews to come in the future.

Nice reference to Edward and Gordon/Edward helps out.

Bachmann posted higher quality images of the N Scale Diesel sample to their Facebook page:

He's looking really good so far! I can't wait to see how the painted sample and Henry look!
Hoping for Edward and the Milk Tanker in N Scale!

Interesting how they decided to only present Diesel considering that he doesn't require a ton of painting besides the wheels, side rods, buffer plate, and the face. With the n-scale backlog finally clearing, Bachmann certainly has a reason to introduce a new engine tooling such as Edward, Duck, and/or Oliver. It does bother me a bit about the lack of brake vans in the line up, where Graham Farish is the alternative for the time being. All the same, Henry's unpainted sample will be an exciting moment to witness within a few streams.

N Scale Diesel and Paxton were announced in 2023, and only now they finally had samples shown. Once their painted samples get shown in like a few streams, there's a good chance they will be available by the end of this year, along with the express coaches. Also won't be much longer before we see Henry's unpainted N Scale sample.

With the Class 08 tooling complete for N Scale, we're bound to get 'Arry, Bert, Sidney and Mainland Diesel at some point in N Scale, as simple repaints with new faces. Though 'Arry and Bert are discontinued in HO Scale, while Sidney and Mainland Diesel are coming soon to HO Scale. The next diesel for the N Scale range that isn't a Class 08 should either be Mavis or Daisy. Mavis would recycle Thomas' chassis, and would be the first model of her to actually have side rods. Daisy would give the N Scale range a diesel with bogies, and she's an iconic character. If Daisy gets an N Scale model, that would be her second piece of merchandise since her return in CGI.

But, the next N Scale engine should still be Edward, so we can have the original Steam Team complete, while the next tank engine should be Duck, and the third big tender engine for the N Scale range should be Spencer. Both Edward and Duck would 100% be new toolings, while Spencer can recycle Gordon's chassis, and his tender would be a new tooling, along with his streamlined A4 body. Spencer shouldn't be too hard to make in N Scale.

Anything is possible, now that the N Scale backlog is finally starting to clear.
