HO / DCC turnout problem
January 24, 2009, 04:38:23 PM
Since I am going to change over(slowly because of cost) to DCC, I have starting adding DCC turnouts(again, like the other equipment, one or two at a time(because of cost). I immediately encountered a problem.  I installed a brand new, out of the box DCC left turnout. I re-progammed the turnout to #8. The turnout command operates normally for several cycles, the turnout quits responding.  The standard remote turnout that I replaced with the DCC turnout worked fine--no problems.

Any one got any ideas?

HO / Adding a 26" radius oval to an existing 22" layout
January 16, 2009, 04:31:26 PM
I am just now setting up a 22" DCC layout with EZ Track.  I have been told that the older DC and the DCC do not work very well together and that it is best to have two seperate runs of track.

So, I would like to add a 26" oval around the outside of my 22" inch layout. My thoughts  are to start with a  26" inch oval with a passing siding on one end of the oval(still using the 26" radius curve) and one or two parking sidings along the straight portions of oval. As I am new to EZ Track could some one help. I assumer the curved passing siding would use standard left or right turnouts. But what would be the best turnout to use for the parking siding? ???

HO / Loco coupler for an older 2-10-4 Santa Fe #3781
January 16, 2009, 04:12:03 PM
I am new to the board and have a fewf older Bachmann locomotives, so I may have some interesting questions.

Right now, I need help getting the part number for a 2-10-4 Santa Fe locomotive. The number on the tender is 3781 and it has 4 wheels on

the a front truck and 10 wheels mounted on the body of the tender.

The coupler portion that is mounted on the locomotive crystalized and broke and I would very much like to replace the part.
