Nice job Jerry.
And to you also Bill. Both rail trucks look great.

If you don't have another transformer you can use, try and  take a voltage reading on the transformer when  the engine slows down. That will tell you if you need a new transformer

I don't believe the motor getting warm is an issue, unless it is hot. then that is bad.

Let me confuse you some more. The engine you are looking at is a small engine. Even though it is larger in scale, it is probably the same size [or close] to your plainsman.
The mogal would look good pulling your train.

Your Plainsman is "G" gauge at 1:22.5 scale, if it is even that big. The 1:20.3 is actually "F"  scale narrow gauge using "G" gauge track. There is a size difference. Put side by side, 1:20.3 will be quite a bit larger.

Personally, I only run 1:20.3. But my Friend runs 1:22.5 cars with his 1:20.3 engines and they look fine. On the other hand, I think that 1:20.3 cars behind a 1:22.5 engine look to big. But that is my opinion only.

I don't see a product number on my car, but if I had to replace the trucks it looks like I would get the archbar freight trucks #29901.

Before this gets to be to silly, the engine is NOT spectrum. But, I was able to find it on my cell phone, second listing, and then I double checked it in the catalog.

It looks like "G" scale trains are not in the spectrum series, but the "F" scale [1:20.3] trains are.

Hi all,

I apologise for my ignorance, but what is so special about EZ track?

I always assumed that it was basic 'train set' quality, and was relegated back to the box when one moved onto more prototypical standards - especially in On30...

??? ???

The grey and nickel silver track is as good as anything else on the market. It may not be prototypical, but it works great on carpet, and if you get tired of you track plan, it is easy to change.

Les. Yep, you got it. The railroad ran north of Virginia, MN.

My railroad, the "Virginia & Rainy Lake Ry" did exist in the late 1800's. I was a standard gauge logging railroad. I turned it into a narrow gauge railroad, that hauls what ever I want.

Williams by Bachmann / Re: Bachmann Warranty Repairs
January 30, 2012, 07:19:32 PM
I had to send in a ON30 engine for repair, and they told me it would be about four weeks. Four weeks later I had a new engine. It seems that four weeks is about normal.

1:20.3 is accually "F" scale narrow gauge. It gets classified as "G" because it uses g gauge track. And someone correct me if I am wrong here, but I believe that 1.22.5 is european 1 meter.

Lincoln logs are still available. Target and Wallmart have them.

I like that little cabin. All it needs is granny and Jed.
