I just bought this new Bachmann #63754 Erie Lackawanna F7A with DCC no sound from an online hobby shop in Maryland.  It was dead on arrival.  Loco looks fine but won't respond to any commands from my EZ Command.  I have four other F7As from this same line (SNs #63751-55) which work fine with the same EZ Command and track.  Any suggestions before I send it in for repair/replacement?

Update:  Bachmann now advertises these models at MSRP of $125 each.  TrainWorld advertises them for preorder at $69.99 each with due date of 09/30/2020.  Any bets on when they will actually be available?

I just got unlettered Bachmann #82057 N scale 70 tonner in Bethlehem Steel livery.  Anyone have info on Bethlehem Steel's 70 ton diesel roster?  Bachmann has two lettered Bethlehem Steel 70 tonners with #56 and #44 numbers.  Any other prototypical numbers?  Thanks!

Update:  Found the answer on Model Railroader Forum:  Their input ultimately led me to the fallen flag short line "St Johnsbury & Lamoile County Railroad" of northern Vermont, in operation from 1877 to 1995.

  It had a fleet of ten 70 tonners numbered 46 to 55 and painted in "burnt orange" on the lower body and in "cream yellow" on the upper body, exactly the color scheme of the Bachmann model. The prototype's striping and lettering "St J & LC" were all black so I have a good example for decaling.

Interestingly, the 93 miles of the "SJL" are being converted to a rail trail.  When/If completed, it will be the longest rail trail in New England.

I have bent the loco and tender hook coupler ends several times but they keep unhooking, especially when backing up.  Any suggestions?

I've used the EZ Command red power wire with bare wires and black plugin to connect the booster to EZ track power rerailer for several years with no problems.  See 2007 post discussion titled "Bachmann 5 Amp Booster" for more info. 

Try modeltrainstuff.com or favoritespot.com, two of my favorites for EZ track at good discount prices with reasonable shipping costs, at least in the states.  Not sure of their int'l shipping rates.
